    Naive B cells recognize and phagocytose antigens. They then present the antigen to their cell surface molecules and await co-stimulation from activated CD4 T cells. When co-stimulated, the naive B cells activate the naive CD4 T cells through antigen presentation, and the activated CD4 T cells secrete cytokines that trigger the B cells to proliferate and differentiate into plasma cells or memory B cells.
