Posting and transfers are administrative matters, however, it be ensured that no Chief
Justice of High Court be posted in his/her home state.

High Court Judges should never be posted to the High Courts of OWN State or to any High
Court of States which share common border with OWN state of Judge. Preferably, Judges
should volunteer to be transferred rather than SC ordering it.

This is a punitive measure where we do not know the reasons behind this. But if a Judge is
fit to be the Chief Justice of a High Court be ita smaller court, then the downgrading is a
deliberate insult smacking of personal vendetta to force an outcome that we are seeing in
the learned judge's resignation.

With this transfer it appears that the SC Collegium has run amok. One wonders if there there
is politics behind this move.

Shameful that the SC collegium decided to transfer CJ Tahilramani (one of the seniormost
judges in India) of Chennai HC to the smallest court Meghalaya. Govt wanted to victimise
her because of her Bilkis Bano judgement. Time for full time independent NJAC

The confusion

Once upon a time.... The Supreme Court wasn't satisfied with the Justice of the Chief Justice.
Now the Chief Justice isn't happy with the Justice of the Supreme Court.

Its quite unfortunate tat a cheif justice has to take a decision of resigning who is one of the
senior most judges & a judicious person&2 times acting CJ who has served the judiciary

Heartening to know that we still have few judges who have convictions & can defy patently
wrong orders. But that is a loss to India's judicial system. BJP will be too happy to get rid of
one more upright judge.
