COURSE SYLLABUS

Code Number : English 124


Descriptive Title : Public Speaking
Credit : 3 units
Course Description :
English 124 aims to impart to the students the principles of critical thinking and critical listening while constantly arguing them
to reflect seriously on the silent factors that affect the effective communication process so as to nurture positive attitudes
towards speaking. With consistent emphasis on ethical responsibilities, the course offer concrete, practical guidance on the
study and practice of effective public speaking both formal and informal. Occasional addresses, oral reports, interviews, sales
and publicity talks, effective devices in oral discourse and other creative public speaking activities are taken up for mastery of
the communication skills and proficiency in the transmission of ideas.

Hours Per Week : 3 hours


Pre-requisite : English 121
