Pre-freshman concert proposal

Introduction
The nature of pre-fm concert would be the same as last year, allowing fm to write
and perform their own play at the last day of the camp, according to the clues and
topics we provide. However based on the feedback from some individuals last o
camp, there will be a few amendment to improve the activity.

1. Theme to follow
It is suggested to provide a theme for the plays, so that fm would have something
to follow on, not exclusively to the clues only.
The theme is yet to be discussed but I suggest something related to the university
life, for example “Expectations for the coming university life”. Which means
despite the clues fm received, the play should be based on the topic mentioned
like “Expectations for the coming university”.

Another reason for setting up these serious/meaningful topics like “university

expectation” is that it would be much more meaningful to recall such plays in
their coming graduation dinners instead of plays without any meanings.

2. Form of clues
It is suggested to provide clues that are not in the form of words as it might be a
major constrain on the play. Instead “Emoji” are suggested to replace these
words.

Which emojis are yet to be discussed as well but I suggest the following emojis:

“100 score” emoji

“18+” emoji
“Mahjong” emoji
“Poker card”emoji
“Medal” emoji
“Sports” emoji
“Boy and girl” emoji
“Zzz” emoji
“Heart” emoji
“books” emoji

Since emoji does not have clear definitions, the fm can develop there own ideas
based on the emojis. Each group may receive 3 or 4 emoji (or more) to use in
their plays, and one suggestion is to allow them choose among those emojis, for
example they can use only 3 clues out of the 5 given emoji. This provides more
flexibility, and lower the difficulty of the game.
It is suggested to provide guidelines for Joba Joma in dem game, before the o
camp period, for example listing ideas that could develop from one emoji.
Such as under the “100 score “ emoji, the guideline may include “studying” “hok
ba” “GPA” “first houn” “studying abroad” “research” etc.
This is to make sure joba jomas at least have sufficient ideas to support fm in
creating their own play.

Placement test
Wong ching yin will be responsible for creating the placement test. He made two
samples so far. Attached the two versions.
