How to write EVS

Project?
March 16, 2019

The best step-by-step

step guidelines for writing great project report on Environmental
Science for your school or college level submission!

How to start?
The very first step is to contact your concerned teacher and ask him/her to allot a
particular EVS project of the teacher's choice or your choice.

Please note here that there is no such rule prescribed by the SSC or HSC Board, about
particularr project allotment. So the concerned teacher should not force the student to
work on this or that project. Let the student choose the project as per his/her choice...!

Student must refer to the prescribed list of projects. This list is readily available in
i your
school or college. If the teacher is not showing you the list, you must request to give one.
You can also refer the prescribed list below:

● SSC Level EVS Projects List - can anyone provide us this list?
● FYJC Level EVS Projects List
● SYJC Level EVS Projects List

Ok! So you selected the project now! So now we shall see how to start working on it...!

The Framework of Project Report

2
Divide yourr project task into neat and systematic heads as follows and then start
working on them. Remember, the assessment of your project is done on the basis of
distribution of heads prescribed by the SSC or HSC board, as given below:

1. The explanation behind the s

select of the project - 10 max. marks
2. Objectives of the project - 4 max. marks
3. Review of literature - 4 max. marks
4. Relevance of the topics covered with selected project - 4 max. marks
5. Proposed methodology - 8 max. marks
6. Description of method followed - 8 max. marks
7. Observations - 2 max. marks
8. Analysis of the project work - 4 max. marks
9. Result/Conclusion/Findings - 2 max. marks
10. The standard of report writing - 4 max. marks
11. Oral/Viva voice (here you must prepare the basic theme of your project orally!) - 10
max. marks

Thus (30+30)/2 = 30 max. marks plus 20 max. marks for journal assignments.

So don't use any titles you like in the project. Always use the prescribed titles and then
write the relevant information for that topic.

The prescribed headings are as under:

Introduction

Give a brief introduction of your project. Write relevant information, which will be
understood even by a commoner. The introduction plays a very important role when your
project is "looked over" (not over looked!) by your teacher.
3
Remember, first impression is the last impression. So write very systematically in
this part of your project.

Reason of Project Selection

You must be logical about giving reason behind the selection of your project. Think on
following points to write d
details of this part.

1. Is it a social cause to create social awareness in people? - giving a social cause is more
impressive, just a suggestion!
2. Have you already done some research on this topic? - If so, then give detailed account.
3. Are you motivated about s
selecting this project? - discuss the details
4. Is it due to your personal interest? - give your likes and dislikes

Objectives

Enlist the objectives of your project. For example, if you have selected the project of
"Mosquito
Mosquito densities are significantly positively correlated with tree densities".
densities" Then the
list of objectives will be something like this:

1. To find out the real world mosquito densities in forest, stagnated water bodies, sewage
water pipes, septic tanks, gar
garbage
bage dump grounds, gardens, dark areas, swampy areas -
where there are diverse tree densities
2. To find the exact cause of relevant mosquito densities due to surrounding effects
3. To compare different readings of mosquito densities as per findings
4. To find out the root cause of mosquito densities, etc.
4
Proposed Methodology

Give detailed account of your proposed methodology.

1. Initial steps which you took for starting up with your task
2. Classified account of your steps
3. Have you used any apparatus in your method? Giv
Give brief details.

Observations

Classify your observations first. Giving the observations in tabular form is always
impressive. Use following points while writing your observations.

1. Give relevant title to each of the column in your observation table

2. Classify the sets of our observations or readings
3. Give necessary formula, if any, at the header row of relevant column
4. If you havedifferent sets of observations, then use separate tables for each
5. Draw relevant diagrams wherever necessary

Compare your observations

1. Use tabular form of comparison with points

2. Use pie charts to create good impression for your findings
3. Lastly give comparison result

Conclusion

Give detailed and step-by

by-step
step conclusions. You can make a list of your systematic
comparisons from the sets of your observations like conclusion
conclusion-1,
1, conclusion-2,
conclusion etc.

Findings

Give brief account of your findings. Here also you can give tabular form of your
yo findings.

Project Analysis
5
Give detailed analysis of your project. Be bold about giving your own opinion and
even your friends opinion about your step
step-by-step work.

Remember, don't praise your project here. This part is not like an acknowledgement.

References

Give detailed list of references you used. Be open minded here and give all the details of
the references you used like books, abstracts, synopses, websites, friends journals, etc.

If you referred different websites, given detailed links of the page

pagess where you found the
references.

Please note...
1. Never ever copy-paste
paste the material you referred.
2. Do not copy text, as it is, from the referred topics. Use your own ideas, in your
own language while writing the project.
3. If you follow above two points, then you will not be afraid of giving web-page
web
links in references part of your project.

So we hope that this discussion will be surely helpful to you to write your own and
unique EVS project of your own...! All the best...!
