ONLINE ATTENDANCE SYSTEM

Introduction

Online Attendance System is software developed for daily student

attendance in schools, colleges and institutes. If facilitates to access the attendance
information of a particular Employee in a particular industry. The information is
sorted by the operators, which will be provided by the employee for a particular
working day. This system will also help in evaluating attendance eligibility criteria
of employee. Attendance System covers the requirements of the Personnel
Department in terms of Manpower Analysis, day-to-day monitoring of the
Attendance.

Introduction to proposed system:-

The purpose of developing this attendance management system is to computerized the

tradition way of taking attendance. Another purpose for developing this software is to generate
the report automatically at the end of the semester. The intention of developing Attendance
Management System is to computerized the tradition way of taking attendance. Another purpose
for developing this software is to generate the desired reports automatically at the end of the
session or in the between of the session as they require. This project is basically a desktop
application which means self contained software runs on the system on which it has been installed
under the user control and it will work for a particular institute or college only.

This project aims to reduce the paper work and saving time to generate accurate results
from the student’s attendance. The system provides with the best user interface. It is trouble free
to use. It is relatively fast approach to enter attendance is highly reliable. The efficient reports can
be generated by using proposed system. This project aims to reduce the paper work and saving

Requirement analysis:
User requirements for the new system are to make the system fast, flexible, less prone to
errors and reduce expenses and save time. A system that can automate the checking of answers
which are pre-stored so that results can be generated as soon as the Student gives the reason. A
facility that can generate result charts as per required. The New system should be more secure in
managing Student records and reliable enough to be used in any condition. Finally, it should
prove cost effective as compared to the current system.

Requirements of New System:

4.2.1 User Requirements.

The User requirements for the new system are to make the system fast, flexible,
less prone to errors and reduce expenses and save time.

 Time can be saved in scheduling the salary if it were available to make question
banks to store questions for different Employee in advance and can be used as per
required.

can be generated as soon as the Employee gives the reason.

 A facility that can generate result charts as per required without manual interference for

providing how a task is to be done instead only asking what is to be done.

 The system should have Employee & its salary records on hand which can be used as per

required only by authorized personnel.

 The New system should be more secure in managing Employee records and reliable

enough to be used in any condition.

  Finally, it should prove cost effective as compared to the current system.

Working of existing system:-

The Existing system is a manual entry for the students. Here the attendance will be carried
out in the hand written registers. It will be a tedious job to maintain the record for the user. The
human effort is more here. The retrieval of the information is not as easy as the records are
maintained in the hand written registers. This application requires correct feed on input into the
respective field.

Currently, practicing old method to take the student attendance which is by giving out
attendance sheet to be sign by student. This impractical method will lead to fraud on number of
absentees by students. Beside, this method also easily allow for impersonation as some student
may purposely sign on another student’s name. Besides, lecturer needs to analyze manually every
attendance sheet to identify the number of absentees for both lecture and lab classes correspond to
subject. Then, lecturer needs to count and calculate percentage of present of all the students
manually to identify when warning letter need to be given to the student depend on his or her
number of absents without providing any medical certificate or notice. As a result, it is time
consuming, increase number of works of the lecturer and prone to human error as it is difficult to
ascertain whether the calculation made was correct. Moreover, student needs to spend
unnecessarily time during class session to sign on the attendance sheet. This also disturbing and
student may lose focus when the attendance sheet is passing around during the class session.
Suppose the wrong inputs are entered, the application resist to work. so the user find it difficult to
use.
