Summary:

One of the major skills learned in Science is: creative thinking. Scientists need to come

up with their new view towards the world, so that they can come up with different kinds of

hypotheses and solutions. Their solutions will come from them developing their logical

connections, digging into the question, and finding various solutions. Even though it is not a key

part of Science, but every scientists and science students must learn creative thinking, together

with critical thinking, so that they would be more open-minded and solve problems efficiently.

The article shows that critical thinking is done by narrowing down the ideas of a

question. Narrowing the ideas is necessary so that it will rely on one idea and let the scientists

focus on one main idea. If they focus on one main idea, then if there would be time that they

would be asked about a scientific issue, then he or she would be at least be able to hold on to

their judgement and share their thought through their single idea. A scientist need to understand

this element for them to be able to break down the obstacles and dig deeper into their main point,

so that in the future they would be able to solve problem systematically.

Even though there are many excellent problem solvers around us, but the most important

thing is to keep imagining. Re-imagining the question will lead you to many different options

and reasoning, because as you re-imagine it more often, the main key of a problem will slowly

come out and it will help you come out with abstract solutions. From the three elements, we can

say that those points were the key to scientific creative thinking.
