Lesson Plan in Mathematics 10

Content Standards: The learner is able to demonstrate understanding of key concepts of

sequences.
Performance Standards: The learner is able to formulate and solve problems involving
sequences
Learning Competency and Code: The learner is able to generate patterns: M10AL-Ia-1
Quarter: 1 Week: 1 Day: 3

I. Objectives:

At the end of 60 minutes, 75% of the learners are expected to:

1. describe the pattern of the activities in the exploration stage; and
2. create a problem involving patterns in the real life setting.

II. Content:

Subject Matter: Sequences

Integration:
(Learning Area): Science, TLE
Strategies: Gallery walk, Collaborative Approach
Materials: Sticky notes, Manila paper,
References: Math 10 LM, New High School Mathematics (Pages 151-152)

III. Learning Tasks:

Preliminary Activities (2 mins)
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance

C. Explain (30 mins)

 The students will do a Gallery Walk, each group will post their output on the
board/wall describing the pattern used in the activity.
 Students will rotate around the room studying each group’s output and leaving a
sticky notes with any questions or comments they might have for 5 minutes.
 After the the gallery walk, one representative for each group to present their output
and answer the questions on the sticky notes written by the other groups.

D. Elaborate (13 mins)

 The teacher will process the activity based on the answers of the students.
 The teacher will give clarifications on misconceptions that took place on the
explanation stage.

E. Evaluate (15 mins)

A. Describe the pattern used in the figure below. II. Create a 1 problem involving
patterns in real life scenario.
F. Extend
After a knee surgery, your trainer tells you to return to your jogging program slowly. He
suggests jogging for 12 mins each day for the first week. Each week, thereafter, he
suggests that you increase that time by 6 mins per day. On waht week it will be before
you are up to jogging 60 mins per day?
