“No One Left Behind”

A picture of 3 LSEN’s pupils mainstream to Grade V regular class doing their class activity.

Mainstreaming is putting child with special education needs in

regular class for a specific time based on their skills and capabilities. The
purpose of mainstreaming is to help the LSEN’s (Learners with Special
Education Needs) adjust to being with normal children and help them
adopt to the demands of regular classes. And it will help them boost their
self-confidence and they will feel importance and part of the society.
Our school had started mainstreaming for the past years and these
school-year 2019-2020, there were 7 LSEN’s with different education
needs mainstream to different regular classes and they were able to adopt
themselves with curriculum of regular class and they were indeed happy
to meet new friends.
The teachers of the LSEN’s as well as their parents we’re so happy
for their accomplishments. We do believe that we have implemented one
of the Department of Education policy which is “No one left behind”.
