TITLE OF THESIS: RELUXE: A Proposed Resort Complex in Mandaue City

THESIS STATEMENT:

Tourism today has become a huge industry all over the country. Regions try their best to satisfy
tourist’s needs and requirements, either for tourists from the same country or for tourists from other
countries. Throughout time tourism has always been about relaxation amusement and exploring the culture
and food of other countries. And architecture plays an important role in fulfilling those aspirations, by
conserving archaeological and historical sites that attracts tourists’ attention, and constructing recreational
areas, hotels and resorts.
The city of Mandaue is consistently exposed from various activity due to its high-urbanized place.
The city is also one of the highly populated cities all over the country with respect to land area. The city
settles different types of establishments such as residential, commercial, agricultural, institutional and
above all, industrial. There is lack of developments such as recreational and related spaces. Resorts are
markedly nonappearance. It does not only deal with tourists, but for the people in the locality that struggles
with their daily endeavors. People in the locality are stressed that they need a place to spent holiday for
relaxation and recreation so that one can give dynamism to their leisure time. For that reason they tend to
travel around the region to experience resort spots and other related spaces due to absence of such spaces
within the city.

PROGRAM:

The researchers’ main concern regards to lack of relaxation spot around the city for people within
the locale. As one of the researchers’ member used to reside within the city, experienced about the lack of
leisure time and recreation. It would be an ideal place to develop such projects since the locality itself is
lack of the said development. Due to highly-urbanized city, the said development should contrast the factors
of the city. Therefore, the researchers will try their best to implement sustainable design which is a trend
nowadays. The project will have, hostels and serviced apartments, a grand casino, an indoor or outdoor
theme park, pool garden, shopping center and offices, and the city’s convention center. The project itself is
for the benefit of Mandauehanons and also for tourists.
SITE:

Researchers and more studies has done to have the specific site for the proposal. As a result, he
given location has not been determined yet since it is the current status of the site is used as relocation
from the fire victims. The site given by the government is an ideal site because if its accessibility with wider
roads. But as much as possible, the site should be flat as for easier planning. Having a lot to be untouched
will be another aspect as nature and natural greens will be preserved to help imply development. The site
is be located accessible to main roads. Moreover, as the researchers go along with the study, ideas will
come up to have a certain location of the resort complex.
