Our Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors are the largest contributors to the
Mahindra Group revenue as well as the flagship company. Both enjoy market leadership
positions in their respective businesses. Our Farm Equipment business is considered to be
the largest tractor company in the world by volume with a dominant position in India and
globally over the past 2 decades. This business looks at the end-to-end of the agriculture
value chain. In addition to our focus on maintaining a dominant position in the core
tractor business, we strive to deliver on our aspiration of ‘Delivering Farm Tech
Prosperity’ to enable our customers and our communities to RISE and make a positive
difference in their lives. Our Automotive business currently accounts for about half of
India’s market for utility vehicles.
A full-range player with a presence in almost every segment of the automobile
industry, our product portfolio which includes luxury utility vehicles, sedans, pick-ups,
light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, caters to a diverse
customer base spanning across rural and semi-urban customers. Leveraging on our
growing dominance, domestic and international market penetration and recent strategic
acquisitions, we aim to be amongst the top 10 global automotive brands in the world.
In 2010, Mahindra featured in the Credit Suisse Great Brands of Tomorrow. In 2011,
Mahindra featured on the Forbes Global 2000 list, a listing of the biggest and most
powerful listed companies in the world. Dun & Bradstreet also ranked Mahindra at No. 1
in the automobile sector in its list of India’s Top 500 Companies. In 2011, Mahindra
acquired a majority stake in Korea’s SsangYong Motor Company.

In 2015, Mahindra & Mahindra was recognized as the Best Company for CSR in
India in a study by the Economic Times. In 2014, Mahindra featured on the Forbes
Global 2000, a comprehensive listing of the world’s largest, most powerful public
companies, as measured by revenue, profit, assets and market value. The Mahindra
Group also received the Financial Times ‘Boldness in Business’ Award in the ‘Emerging
Markets’ category in 2013.
In June 2016, Mahindra Automotive & Farm Sectors was declared the First Great
Place to Work in manufacturing category and received an overall rank of 19 among the
Top 100 Great Places to Work. We ranked among Top 50 Great Places to Work for the 4 th
consecutive year. Additionally, Mahindra Automotive & Farm Sectors was also adjudged
winner in the Engineering & Automotive Sector at Business Today’s Best Companies to
Work For Awards 2016.
