ELICIT

- What are the events will occur when two plates diverge?
- How about when 2 plates undergo in transform fault boundary?

ENGAGE

- Show a picture of “The Evolution of Pangaea”


- Study and analyze the picture.
- Describe what happens to the Pangaea after million years.
 What is Pangaea?
 What are the Seven Continents of the World?

EXPLORE

The following activity will give you an idea how the Continental Drift Theory was conceived.

- Group the students into 5.


- Setting standards for group activity.
- Distribution of activity sheet.

The students will do the Jigzaw Puzzle using the old newspaper or magazine.
(They are given 1 minute/60 seconds to fit the pieces together.)

See attached Activity Sheet.

- What features of the picture helped you to connect the pieces perfectly?
- How the lines of prints or texts in the picture do help you to confirm that you have
reassembled the picture?
- What are the proofs/evidences that the newspaper or magazine is perfectly reassembled?

(Jigzaw Puzzle)

OBJECTIVES:

 Find clues to solve a problem.


 Enumerate the lines of evidence that support the Continental Drift Theory.

MATERIALS:
 Old newspaper or magazine
 Scotch tape

PROCEDURES:
1. Obtain a set of torn newspaper page or magazine page from your teacher.
2. Try to fit the pieces together within 60 seconds.
3. Use a tape to connect the pieces.
4. Raise your hands together as a group and say FINISH as you solve the puzzle.

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

1. What features of the picture helped you to connect the pieces perfectly?

2. How the lines of prints or texts in the picture do help you to confirm that you have
