CHAPTER 3

METHODOLOGY AND RESOURCES OF DATA

Research design is the main representation of this chapter. It deals with

the respondents, data resource, statistical treatment, and the process of

conducting the study. This chapter shows on how the researcher collects the

data in order to provide statements for the problem.

RESEARCH DESIGN

The researchers tend to use a Historical Research Design to be

able to conduct the study. The purpose of a historical research design is to

collect, verify, and synthesize evidence from the past to establish facts that

defend or refute a hypothesis. It uses secondary sources and a variety of

primary documentary evidence, such as, diaries, official records, reports,

archives, and non-textual information. Historical records can add important

contextual background required to more fully understand and interpret a

research problem. Historical sources can be used over and over to study

different research problems or to replicate a previous study. There is often no

possibility of researcher-subject interaction that could affect the findings.

RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

To be able to collect data and information, the researchers

provide a self-made checklist for them to be able to have an instrument in

gathering information from the respondents. .

Residence of Angono, Rizal and some ICCT Students were considered as

respondents in this study. 30 out of 113,283 were considered as respondents,

and 20 ICCT Students were considered as respondents also.

INSTRUMENT

This study used to apply a self-made checklist survey as an

instrument used in order to gather important information.

Each respondents needs to fill-up the personal information section

first before they can proceed on the actual checklist survey for the study.

Checklist Survey contains statements that are relevant on the study.

VALIDATION OF THE INSTRUMENTS

In order for the researcher to be assured that their instruments are

valid and reliable, they tend to ask some help and suggestions from the

professionals and persons who used to deal some fields or study about arts. The

researchers accept the feedbacks from these people.

26
DATA COLLECTION

The researchers used to propose the title this study and after the title

has been guaranteed, they began to look for the significant information and data

that are relevant to for the study. The checklist surveys were distributed after the

statement of the problem has been constructed. Revisions and corrections take

place when they are crating the checklist surveys, feedbacks were accepted for

the surveys. After collecting the checklist surveys, the researchers starts to

gather some information and data from the survey for them to be able to get the

tally of the answers. Then, the results were tallied, and the researchers list down

their findings.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT

For the analysis and interpretation of data, the following statistical tools were

considered.

n=N/1+N(e)^2

Where n is the sample size, N is the given population size and e is the margin of

error.
