54 Maa Open & Under 18 Athletic Championship 2019: 1.0 Participation
This Championship is held under the rules of Malaysian Athletic Federation (MAF 2019-2020).
When there is a doubt in the interpretation of the rules, the English version of the rules shall be
enforced.
1.0 PARTICIPATION
1.1 The Championship is open to all affiliates of the Malaysian Athletic Federation,
affiliates of the Malacca Athletic Association, schools and athletic clubs.
1.2 This Championship is open to athletes in four categories:
1.3 Those competing in Under 18 categories must be born in the year 2001 or after.
3.0 EVENTS
8.0 SUBSTITUTION
8.1 A competitor who has withdrawn can be substituted by another registered athlete who
shall participate in all the events which he/she has entered.
8.2 A withdrawn competitor cannot participate in any event in the Championship.
8.3 All competitors entered for relay must be registered in the official entry forms.
8.4 Substitution is among the registered athletes and based on events.
8.5 No fresh entries or any unregistered relay runner will be allowed at the MANAGERS’
MEETING.
12.0 WITHDRAWALS
12.1 A competitor who participates in the preliminary round and qualifies for subsequent
round will not be allowed to withdraw from the event.
12.2 Withdrawal can be made ONLY on medical grounds and/or with the consent of the
Technical Delegate/Meet Manager. Otherwise, the failure of the competitor to
participate may disqualify him/her from the rest of the Championship.

15.0 TIMING
15.1 Electronic Timing will be used to record the official timing.
16.0 RAISE OF BAR
16.1 High Jump (Men Open)
The height of bar will be set at 1.70m for practice. For the competition, the bar will be
set at 1.75m and raised as follows: 1.80m, 1.85m, 1.88m, 1.91m, 1.94m, 1.97m,
2.00m and 2cm increase hereafter.
18.0 SECURITY
The Organising Committee shall not accept responsibility for loss of properties or damages
in the competitors’ enclosure or the arena of competition.
19.0 ACCIDENT/INJURIES
While every care shall be exercised and all precautions taken to prevent accidents, the
Organising Committee does not take any responsibility for accidents or injuries during the
Championship.
20.0 PROTEST
Protest must be first made orally (if there is any) to the Referee concerned. Then it can be
made officially in written form before 30 minutes from the time the official result was
announced, addressed to the Panel of Jury. Each official protest must be accompanied with
cash RM300.00. The money will be forfeited if they fail in their protest.
