FOREWORD

This Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2012-2022 is the product of number
of years preparation and formulation using consultative, participatory approach, research
work, data collections, series of planning workshops and consultative conferences.

This formulated CLUP will serve as the blueprint for the development of the
Municipality of Kawit for the next ten (10) years. It contains the information of the actual
environment of Kawit, its weaknesses and potentials and its functional role in the overall
growth development of the Province of Cavite.

The growth directions, the framework and strategies for the rational land uses and
priority projects to attain the vision and goals of Kawit are specifically identified and
discussed for reference and decision of both the Executive and Legislative in their
administration and governance during their term with the end-result of sustainable eco-
historism and improved quality of life of every Kawiteños, the Municipality of Kawit in
general.

The CLUP is composed of four (4) documents and these are: (1) Executive
Summary which discussed the overall plans and transformation of the Municipality of
Kawit in the next ten (10) years. It outlines the actual environment of Kawit as bases for
planning, the weaknesses and potentials. Development strategies and the priority
programs were also identified; (2) The Socio-Economic and Physical Profile (SEPP) -
are the data base and vital information of what is Kawit today which serves as the
formulation of the CLUP for the planning period 2012-2022; (3) The Comprehensive
Land Use Plan – it is the blueprint of what will be Kawit in the next ten (10) years which
means the transformation and development of Kawit from 2012 to 2022; (4) Zoning
Ordinance – is the local legislation which is the legal basis for judicious land management
so that Kawit can harness the full potential of its land resources.

The CLUP incorporates a framework that outlines the goals and objectives into
priority projects and programs of the municipality. It is a reflection of the municipality’s
vision and mission with an end goal of bringing the best that living in a progressive global
community can offer. With its enhanced strategic geography, Kawit will witness an
exponential economic growth using the CLUP.
