Exemplary Lesson Plan
LEVEL:
I. LEARNING
STANDARDS
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of work using constant force,
power, gravitational potential energy, kinetic energy, and elastic
potential energy.
B. Performance Standard Develop a written plan and implement a “Newton’s Olymphics.”
C. Learning (S8FE-Ic-21)
Competencies/Objectives Objectives:
1. Describe how work is related to power and energy.
2. Compute for your power output in walking or running a 3 - meter
distance.
3. Site importance of Power in real life.
II. CONTENT
A. Subject Matter/Topic: Power
B. Concepts: Power is the rate of doing work, or it talks about how fast a work is
done. It is often equated as P= W/t and its unit is Joule per second but I
was illustrated as Watt after the Scottish inventor of steam engine,
James Watt. Watt is commonly used in electricity as frequently being
heard in your electricity bills. Thus, power depends on how energy does
a person or an object exert.
III. LEARNING
RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pp.
ENGAGE(10mins)
After giving overview of the lesson:
Group Dynamics Students will be grouped into 2 and will do the Activity on How
POWER-ful am I, Lesson Guide Grade 8 First Quarter, pp. 34-35
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned
75% on the formative assessment
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for
remediation.
C. Did the remedial lessons
work?
No. of learners who have caught
up with the lesson.
D.No. of learners who continue
to require remediation
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well? Why did
these work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my principal or
supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover
which I wish to share with other
teachers?
