Title: A Therapeutic Design Hospital Specializing on Dengue

ABSTRACT

Philippines is facing approximately twenty cyclones entering the country according to

PAGASA, due to typhoon rain, there is an increase of breeding sites for Mosquitoes causing the

ascending case of Dengue virus especially during rainy season. Dengue’s rate is continuously rising

yearly, and Department of Health (DOH) already declares National Dengue epidemic. Base on DOH

surveillance report there are 146,062 cases reported from January to July of 2019, 98% higher than

the same period of 2018. Dengue Virus alarms the DOH and already requested for a meeting with

the National Risk Reduction and Management. According to Situation Report of the Philippines to

WHO, “Health facilities have reactivated Dengue Fast Lanes, and CHDs are conducting training on

existing dengue clinical management guidelines from 2012 for health workers in affected areas.”

Base on Dengue monthly report no. 6 of 2019, Region 6(Western Visayas) leads the statistics

with 13,164 dengue case reported from January to June of 2019 followed by Region 4A(Calabarzon)

with 11,474 cases. Region 4A has the highest death rate, with 46(16% of reported deaths in the

Philippines) deaths already recorded this year. On 11,474 dengue cases of Region 4A(Calabarzon)

Cavite contributes the highest, with 3,756 cases, followed by Laguna (2,630), Batangas (2,621),

Quezon (2,480) and last Rizal with (1,529) cases. Base on National Health Facility Registry Rizal is the

weakest in terms of Hospital Facilities, with only 2 level 3 hospitals compare to Batangas, Cavite,
Laguna with 10 level 3 hospitals registered and Quezon with 11 level 3 hospitals. Rizal lies

immediately east of Metro Manila with a land area of 1,303 sqm and covers a population of 975,850

(Census, n.d.). Most of Rizal’s portion is mountainous and it evenly distributing the rainfall through

the land. Rizal is also in the middle of Calabarzon, making it more accessible to all part of the region.
