 Abstract

Poseidon is a robot that can pick up garbage in a canal. This is very useful to humans and

it can minimize their work. This had significantly affected how people live which led to a

development of a new study that can benefit people and that is on a nearby canal. Furthermore,

the study aims to minimize the work of people and maximize the use of resources available. This

study helps people such as:

i. Provides information about the effects of Poseidon in a canal.

ii. Gives information about the uses of Poseidon.

iii. It can be used as garbage collector.

iv. It can minimize people’s work.

v. Helps to understand what are the uses of the robot Poseidon

As a result, Poseidon as a garbage collector in a nearby canal have emerge in order to

minimize environmental impacts and take advantage of the recycled parts available. The

main scope of this paper is to asses researches performed with the use of Poseidon as a

garbage collector, mentioning its advantages, reviewing some result on efficiency and

benefits acquired in months and highlighting the robot’s potentials for better

environment.
 Introduction

Garbage in our country are getting massive than usual especially in our canals. Our

aim is to minimize the garbage that is stock in our street canals. And to minimize the

work of the people that is their daily lifestyle is to pick garbage in the street or to clean

the street. Throughout the centuries people are always throwing their garbage

everywhere. The garbage here in Philippines specifically here in Danao City is getting

massive. Garbage is the main problem here in Danao City which some of the residents

just throw their garbage everywhere and that can be a serious problem in the near future.

However by this machine SAM-1 can minimize both work and garbage by just installing

this machine to nearby sewers.

 Background of the study

The study aim to clean the canal and plastic can be stock in the canal due to people who

throw garbage near the canal, finding the effect could give us information to the community the

benefits and disadvantages could get.

The study aims to reduce flood near the canal. The canal water flow goes directly to the

sea without any garbage. The study helps gathering information on Bot whether it can be use as a

garbage collector in a canal.

Statement of the problem

This study aims to find out how Poseidon can clean a canal. And will provide information

to a person who is planning to use this kind of robot.

Specifically, this study aims to answer the following questions:

Significance of the study

The result of the study would be beneficial to the following:

Resident – who lives in the area where we put our Bot to minimize the pollution such as

plastic, bottles, anything that can float in water.

Trash collector – it helps them to minimize or lessen their work because our Bot could

collect trash.

Living organism in water – it help to the fishes free from trash (plastic, bottles, other

small trash.

Future Researcher – it helps future researcher to gain more information about our study,

future researcher could initiate new experiment or new mechanics that can improve our

study by using this study method.

Scope and limitations

This study will focus on finding out the effects of Poseidon in a canal. However,

the study is limited on canals only. The study will help on gathering information on the

bot whether it can be use as a garbage collector.

 Furthermore, the study will be conducted in Taboc Camaligbato (purok tambis)

Danao City.

Definition of terms

Robot- a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically,

especially one programmable by a computer.

Canal- a long, thin stretch of water that is artificially made either for boats to travel along

or for taking water from one area to another.

Garbage- a thing that is considered worthless or meaningless.
