March 2019, DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF BRIQUETTE PRESS.

The main objective of the study is to design a briquette press and to produce or

develop charcoal briquettes and carbonized saw dust. A production type of briquette

press design is efficient and could be developed to transform agro-waste into fuel

briquettes.

A briquette press designed and constructed by the researchers utilizing locally

available materials was developed to transform agro-waste into fuel briquettes. The

power needed at high pressure compaction maybe is supplied by employing manpower

to push down the handle.

The total cost of the completed briquette press which amounted to P 5,000.00

was based on the expenditures of supplies and materials, labor and other expenditures.

During the initial test conducted, the briquette press can produce twelve charcoal

briquettes in five minutes. Based on the result of the initial test researchers recommend

the use of the designed and constructed briquette press.
