THE 8TH EDITION OF THE LATIN ARAB INTERNATIONAL FILM

FESTIVAL IS CELEBRATED IN BUENOS AIRES

From March 25th to March 31st, the 8th edition of
LATINARAB took place in Buenos Aires,
Argentina.
30 films by renowned Arab directors graced the
screens and more than 1500 people were in
attendance throughout the 70 screenings.
Additionally, Cine Fértil was honoured on April 2nd
by the Buenos Aires City Legislature by being
declared of Cultural Interest.

CINE FÉRTIL OF CULTURAL INTEREST

"The Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires declares the Argentine non-
governmental organization Asociación del Creciente Cine Fértil para la Promoción de la
Diversidad Cultural of cultural interest.
Cine Fértil introduces the public to the social, cultural and artistic contexts of the Arab world.
This organization has become a reference in the region for its initiatives aimed at forging
stable and long-lasting cultural relations between Latin America and the Arab region.
On May 15, 2008, Cine Fértil was awarded by UNESCO with the Unesco-Sharjah prize for Arab
Culture, being the first Argentine organization to win a Unesco prize and the first film
organization to win this specific award, too."
The closing party took place on Saturday,
March 30th in popular venue La Quince, with
Los Arcanos del Desierto headlining the
music guests and DJ sets.
Now a staple in Buenos Aires’ party
calendar, LatinArab’s celebration exuded
youth, art, and fun.
