Isotretinoin Use in Acne: Prospective Evaluation of

Adverse Events

P - a group of patients undergone a course of treatment with isotretinoin for

severe acne in order to document the side effects experienced.
I - A Descriptive study
C – Group 1: 43 patients were treated for 4 months at a dose of 1 mg per kg
body weight.
O – to access the side effects of isotretinoin with the help of a questionnaire,
which was administered monthly, inquiring specifically about associated side
effects.

What I have learned:

I learned about the usage of isotretinoin mostly in severe acne and
not in moderate and mild acne. I came to know about the serious side
effects associated with the medicine and its benefits in treating acne. I hope
this research will help in the development of isotretinoin with minimal side
effects in the upcoming generation.
