There are around 104,513 gasoline stations in the US (2019).

Nowdays many stations use POS

systems to make their sales. These gas stations have many POS systems that register various
services. Most gasoline stations have at least three types of gasoline, mini markets (with food,
groceries, car accessories and miscellaneous), car wash, tire centers, mechanic services, and
sometimes even bars inside of the stations. Sale points accept payments in cash, atm and credit
cards. The extraction of the sales, from all these independent points can sometimes become a
difficult action if gasoline stations. Gasoline prices yearly fluctuations because of the price of the
barrel, the number of sales and income of every section of the gas station vary by seasons. To
have full access to this statistic for foreseeing the monthly and annual business behavior is a
valuable perk to have. This can help to predict high and low seasons with easiness and with it
help to buy gasoline and products minimizing the excesses or shortages of them, helps hire
employees due to the company's demand and analyze their productivity from a holistic
viewpoint, either for a single point of sales or for a chain of gas stations. The use of a reward
systems, gift cards and promotions can also be statistically analyzed. The result of accessing all
statistics for the owners and investors of gasoline stations are of major benefits. In the
Petroleum/Convenience Store Industry every decision can make a big difference in the total
income of the industry. The mayor percentage of income in Petroleum/Convenience Stores is not
from the gasoline, but from the products sell in the convenience stores. Not having a good tool to
manage all this information effectively, the industry have recurred to market prediction tools that
includes mystery shopping and audit programs to make financial models that shows how to
improve their sales making certain decisions, but these involve third party companies driving
those financial models.
