1. (a) Bohr was one of many scientists that made proposals about the structure of an atom.
Today this theory is recognised and accepted in the scientific community to describe its
structure.

(i) Draw a simplified diagram representing the Bohr model of atomic structure. Include
in your diagram four quantum levels of energy orbitals

(ii) Using the Bohr model of the atom you have drawn above in part (i).

Show on the diagram three possible electronic transitions that occurs in the origin of
line emission spectrum for the Balmer series. [2 marks]

(iii) State the region of the electromagnetic spectrum where the origin of line emission of
spectrum of Balmer series exists.
