10. Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karykram (PMJVK), [restructured Multi-sectoral Development Programme
(MsDP)], the Minority Affairs Ministry will construct schools, colleges, ITIs, skill development centres,
multi-purpose community centres “Sadbhav Mandap”, “Hunar Hub”, hospitals, business centres etc. on
waqf properties across the country. (esp. in those “backward and ignored” areas which had been
deprived of these facilities since the Independence)

16. Ministry launched the country's first "National Scholarship Portal Mobile App" (NSP Mobile App). The
portal will ensure a smooth, accessible and hassle-free scholarship system for students from poor and
weaker sections.
17. Haj initiatives - Saudi Arabia has given green signal for India’s decision to revive the option of sending
Haj pilgrims through sea route. Haj 2018 has been made 100 per cent digital/online. For the first time
about 1300 Muslim women from India went to Haj without “Mehram” (male companion).

2. MINISTRY OF CULTURE
1. Mumbai's Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Building declared as World Heritage by UNESCO - makes
Mumbai city the second city in India after Ahmedabad to be inscribed on the World Heritage List. India
now has overall 37 World Heritage Inscriptions with 29 Cultural, 07 Natural and 01 Mixed sites. While
India stands 2nd largest in number after China in terms of number of World Heritage properties in ASPAC
(Asia and Pacific) region, it is overall 6th in the world.
2. India hosts its first ever Theatre Olympics2018 – this was 8th edition, celebrated at Red Fort, New Delhi
and Gateway of India, Mumbai.
3. Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsavs under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat matrix celebrated.
4. ASI excavations at the Sadiqpur Sanauli village of Bhagpat, Uttar Pradesh - discovery puts Indian
Civilization on par with other ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia and Greece, where Chariots were
extensively used
5. “Seva Bhoj Yojna” - To reimburse the Central Government share of Central Goods and Services Tax
(CGST) and Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST) so as to lessen the financial burden of such Religious
/ Charitable Institutions who provide Food/Prasad/Langar (Community Kitchen)/Bhandara free of cost
without any discrimination to Public/Devotees.
6. ‘Dharohar Bhawan’ - the new Headquarters building of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). ASI
lifted the ban on photography to allow photography within the premises of all centrally protected
monuments/sites.
7. “Museum on Prime Ministers of India” is to be set up in Delhi.
8. 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi launched
9. 75th Anniversary of Formation of Azad Hind Government
10. 550th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

7. Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) Buffer stock of upto 20.50 lakh tonnes of pules built through domestic
procurement and import for effective market intervention to stabilize their prices, Procurement and
import of Onions undertaken through NAFED, SFAC and MMTC for stabilising prices of onions.
8. Consumer Protection Bill 2018 has been introduced in the Parliament
9. Bureau of Indian Standards Act 2016, which established BIS as the National Standards Body of India,
was brought into force.

1. Compulsorily procurement, by all PSUs, of 25% from MSMEs (instead of 20%) of their total purchases.
Out of the 25%, 3% reserved for women entrepreneurs. All CPSUs to compulsorily procure through GeM
portal.
2. The Prime Minister said that there are 5 key aspects for facilitating the MSME sector: access to credit,
access to market, technology upgradation, ease of doing business, sense of security for employees.
3. Interest subvention of 2% for all GST registered MSMEs on fresh or incremental loans.
4. Establishments to be visited by an Inspector will be decided through a computerised random allotment.
5. Scheme for Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) & National SC/ST Hub.

6. ASPIRE (A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation, Rural Industry and Entrepreneurship) - aim to set up
100 livelihood business incubators and 20 technology business incubators
7. Contribution of 8.33% of Employee Provident Fund (EPF) for new employees by the Government for
three years. (12% to EPF - textile, leather and footwear)
8. Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme – credit-linked subsidy programme - to create
estimated employment opportunities for 15 lakh persons in three financial years, total outlay of Rs.5,500
crore. Generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the
non-farm sector by helping traditional artisans and unemployed youth in rural as well as urban areas.
Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is the nodal implementation agency.
9. MOU with Ministry of AYUSH - to position India as a world leader in “Holistic Healthcare”.
10. Udyam Sakhi portal - for nurturing entrepreneurship and creating business models - learning tools,
incubation facility ,training programs for fund raising, providing mentors, one-on-one investor meet,
provide market survey facility and technical assistance.
11. ‘Sweet Revolution’ - to increase the production of honey, KVIC has launched the honey mission.
12. ‘Sampark’ portal - bridge between the talent pool and enterprises seeking trained man power.

1. Through Aadhaar, the Government has provided digital identity to 122.9 crore residents of the country
with 99% coverage of adult population as on 30th November, 2018.
2. In November, 2018, transactions of value ₹ 7,981 crore were made using BHIM app.
3. ₹ 5.49 lakh crore have been disbursed through DBT to beneficiaries of 433 govt. schemes which have
led to saving of over ₹ 90,000 crore in the last 4 years
4. Jeevan Pramaan has improved the ease of verification of pensioners using Aadhaar digital identity. So
far 1.73 crore Digital Life Certificates have been processed
5. National Scholarship Portal - ₹ 5276 Cr. has been disbursed to 1.8 Cr. students.
6. Soil Health Card - 9.5 crore cards made
7. eNAM 585 markets that are linked to the eNAM network from 16 States and 2 UT's
8. eTaal (Electronic Transaction Aggregation & Analysis Layer) a platform for dissemination of e

Projects. It automatically pulls the e-Transaction data from applications integrated with it using Web
Service technology and facilitates quick analysis of transaction data for the user.
9. EDistrict Mission Mode Project (MMP) end-to-end workflow to ensure delivery of e-Services by
undertaking Business Process Re-engineering (BPR).
10. Digitize India Platform (DIP) - digitization services for scanned document images
11. Rapid Assessment System (RAS) A continuous feedback system on e-services delivered by Government
of India and State Governments
12. Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India (https://data.gov.in) has been set-up by the National

8. MINISTRY OF SHIPPING
1. Ports in India handle 90% by volume and 70% by value of India’s external trade. Average Turnaround
time – 60.48 hrs, Present Port Capacity – 1451 MTPA
2. Major Ports Authorities Bill to replace existing Major Port Trusts Act 1963 to provide greater autonomy
and modernization of institutional structure
3. A centralized webbased Port Community System (PCS) has been operationalized across all Major Ports
which enables seamless data flow between the various stakeholders
4. Inauguration of the Multi Modal Terminal on River Ganga at Varanasi
5. Project Unnati - global benchmarks were adopted to improve the efficiency and productivity Key
Performing Indicators (KPIs) for 12 major ports.
6. Centre of Excellence in Maritime & Shipbuilding (CEMS) has been setup at Vizag and Mumbai
7. National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC), at IIT Madras in Chennai to
provide innovative and research based engineering solutions
8. India has been reelected to the Council of the International Maritime Organization [IMO] under
Category “B” representing the States with the largest interest in international seaborne trade, for the
biennium 2018-19.
9. The Admiralty (Jurisdiction and Settlement of Maritime Claims) Act, 2017 - High Courts of all the coastal
states shall exercise admiralty jurisdiction over maritime claims.
9. MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS
1. Smart Coach - Induction of technology for safety improvements. Smart Coach with diagnostic system
monitor bearing vibrations provides advance information on health of bearing wheel & track.
2. Complete switchover to LHB - Indian Railways have decided to completely switch over to manufacture
of LHB design main line coaches from 2018-19 onwards.
3. Online Monitoring of Rolling Stock (OMRS) OMRS is the first step towards predictive maintenance for
its Rolling StockOMRS monitors the health of each rolling stock and identifies the defective bearings and
wheels. Real time alarm is generated to take corrective action before the line failure of the rolling stock.
4. Elimination of Unmanned Level Crossings on broad gauge
5. Bridge Management System – A Web-enabled IT Application that will be a single IT-based repository for
all aspects related to bridges on Indian Railways viz. Master Data, condition, inspections, design
drawings, etc.
6. Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs)
Work on both Eastern & Western Dedicated Freight Corridors progressed on full speed during the
year culminating in successful trial of freight train over Phulera- Atari section of Western Dedicated
Freight Corridor & Khurja- Bhadan section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC)
The Dedicated Freight Corridor will be fully commissioned in phases by March 2020.
7. NE Connectivity Meghalaya connected with railways, Tripura and Manipur with broad gauge lines

14. Deen Dayalu Coaches - For passengers who cannot afford to spend much and generally travel by general
coaches of train. These coaches provide a better travel experience to unreserved passengers.
15. Tejas Trains - Ultra modern trains with speed potential of 200 kmph
16. Vistadome Coaches - enhanced viewing area including on roof to enable tourists to enjoy panoramic
view while travelling.
17. Project Swarn was started to upgrade the condition of Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express Trains
18. Project Utkrisht has been launched to improve condition of 66 important Mail/ Express trains
19. ‘Sarathi Sewa’ for provision of Battery Operated Vehicles (BOVs) at stations
20. ‘Project Saksham’ - massive training programme, competence building of all Indian Railway
employees by giving 5 days on the job training.

24. UTSONMOBILE App for unreserved ticket booking through mobile phone, and IRCTC RAIL CONNECT
App for reserved ticket booking.
25. Establishment of Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendras (YTSK) on public private partnership basis for issuing of
tickets.
26. VIKALP Scheme Alternate Train Accommodation Scheme to provide confirmed accommodation to
waitlisted passengers.
27. Boosting Digital Transactions for Online Ticket Reservations
28. Launch of the Next Generation Eticketing System (NGeT) for improving accessibility and enhancing the
overall experience of e-ticketing.
29. Transforming Indian Railways into “Green Railways” - to electrify Broad Gauge routes by 2021-22.
Switch over to 100% LED on all Railway Stations.
30. National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), Vadodara has begun its first academic session

3. Van Dhan Vikas Kendra – multi-purpose establishments, set up under Van Dhan yojana for providing
skill upgradation, capacity building training and setting up of primary processing and value addition
facility.
4. Eklavya Model Residential School - by the year 2022, every block with more than 50% ST population
and at least 20,000 tribal persons, will have an Eklavya Model Residential School. These will be on par
with Navodaya Vidyalayas and will have special facilities for preserving local art and culture besides
providing training in sports and skill development. To set up an Autonomous Society under the Ministry
of Tribal Affairs similar to Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti to run these schools.
5. Minimum Support Price for Minor Forest Produce
1. “Ease of Living” Index is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to help
cities assess their liveability vis-à-vis global and national benchmarks to move towards an ‘outcome
based’ approach to urban planning and management. Index is based on critical pillars of urban
development (Physical, Institutional, Social and Economic). It incorporates 78 indicators across 15
categories. 111 cities ranked.
2. Smart Cities Mission –
All 100 Smart cities have incorporated Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs)
Indian Smart City Fellowship and Indian Smart City Internship programs
Smart Cities Digital Payments Awards 2018 - to guide, motivate, recognize and reward the Smart
Cities for promoting digital payments
CITIIS (Cities Investments to Innovate Integrate and Sustain) - grant to Smart Cities for
implementation of 15 innovative projects selected through the All-India Challenge.
3. Swachh Survekshan 2019 (Paperless and Digital)
Urban areas of 21 States/UTs have been declared ODF
‘ODF+ and ODF++ protocols’, with a focus on sustaining ODF outcomes.
ODF+ protocol focuses on O&M of community / public toilets, ODF++ focuses on addressing safe
management of faecal sludge from toilets
4. ‘Swachh Manch’ - an online knowledge management and stakeholder engagement portal to galvanize
the SBM into a true ‘Jan Andolan’.
5. ‘Star Rating Protocol or garbage free cities’ - to motivate cities to achieve garbage free status. It is a
single metric rating system, based on 12 parameters of Solid Waste Management.
6. 536 kms of Metro Rail Lines operational in 10 cities including Delhi & NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad,
Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai & Gurugram; 13 New Metro Projects - Nagpur,
Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Lucknow, Chennai Extension, Pune, Delhi Metro Extensions, Noida – Greater
Noida, Bhopal & Indore.
7. IMetros (Indian Metro Rail Organisations’ Society) – Launch of a platform to exchange ideas, pooling
of knowledge & sharing of experience, best practices among the Indian metro rail companies to nurture
excellence in performance.
8. Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Urban Livelihoods MISSION (DAY-NULM)

Personalized Aftertraining Rapid Assessment (PARAS) system - to get direct feedback from skill
trained candidates regarding quality of skill training under DAY-NULM.
PAiSa Portal centralised web portal, developed in collaboration with Allahabad Bank, for
subvention of interest to DAY-NULM Beneficiaries, through direct benefit transfer (DBT)
9. Municipal Bonds - More than Rs. 2,700 crore raised through Municipal Bonds
10. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) - more than 68.7 Lakh houses have been approved so far.
Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) was established in National Housing Bank (NHB) with an objective
to improve the affordability of the target group to own their homes.
National Urban Housing Fund for Rs. 60,000 crore has been set up for raising Extra Budgetary
Resources (EBR) for the rapid implementation of PMAY (U).
City Livelihood Centres (CLCs) - DAY-NULM, in collaboration with Government e-Marketplace
(GeM) is facilitating CLCs in in standardization of products and their specifications, identification of
products to be launched on e-marketplace and registration on GeM portal as ‘seller’.
Swachhata Excellence Awards were distributed among the Area Level Federations (ALFs) of Self
Help Groups (SHGs) from various States for their exemplary performance in creating awareness
about sanitation, elimination of open defecation, bringing out behavioural change towards healthy
sanitation practices etc.
11. 28 States/UTs have set up Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA)
12. AMRUT (Atal Mission For Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation) – Project on water supply, sewerage,
green spaces and parks sector, urban transport sector undertaken.
13. Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) being implemented in 12 cities -
Ajmer, Amaravati, Amritsar, Badami, Dwaraka, Gaya, Kancheepuram, Mathura, Puri, Varanasi,
Velankanni and Warangal.
1. The production of raw coal in the country during April-November 2018-19 was 433.896 Million Tonne
(MT)
2. SHAKTI Scheme for Harnessing and Allocating Koyala (Coal) Transparently in India - 12 Fuel Supply
Agreements have been signed by Coal India Limited under the SHAKTI Policy, 2017.
3. UTTAM (Unlocking Transparency by Third Party Assessment of Mined Coal) App has been launched.
All consumer/stakeholders as well as Coal Companies can access the declared grade, third party sample
analysis results and referee analysis results through this App.
4. Now, coal supply under all FSAs and e-auction for both power utilities and non-power consumers have
been covered under Third Party Sampling.
1. Model Contract Farming Act - to encourage contract farming through the State Governments.
2. GrAMS 22,000 Gramin Haats are to be upgraded to work as centres of aggregation and for direct
purchase of agricultural commodities from the farmers.
3. Launch of eNAM initiative to provide farmers an electronic online trading platfor

4. Soil Health Cards - distribution of Soil Health Cards to farmers to optimise the use of fertilizers
5. “Per drop more crop” initiative to encourage drip/sprinkler irrigation for optimal utilization of water.
6. Micro Irrigation Fund A dedicated fund in NABARD with initial corpus of Rs.5000 crores to facilitate
the States in mobilizing the resources for expanding coverage of Micro Irrigation by taking up special
and innovative projects.
7. “Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)” to promote organic farming; Central Sector Scheme entitled
“Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region”
8. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) - covers various types of risks from pre-sowing to post
harvest, provision for nominal premium.
9. “Har Medh Par Ped” to promote agro forestry for supplementing farm income; increase risk
management and climate resilient agriculture
10. Amendment of Indian Forest Act, 1927 to exclude bamboo from the definition of ‘trees’; as a corollary,
the restructured National Bamboo Mission was launched.
11. RKVYRAFTAAR
Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) is aimed at strengthening infrastructure in agriculture and allied
areas.
RKVY — RAFTAR Agribusiness Incubators (RABIs) - A new component under the revamped
scheme RKVY-RAFTAAR (Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation)
has been launched to promote agri-entrepreneurship and agribusiness by providing financial
support and nurturing the incubation.
12. PMAASHA scheme - The new Umbrella Scheme includes the mechanism of ensuring remunerative
prices to the farmers and is comprised of Price Support Scheme (PSS), Price Deficiency Payment Scheme
(PDPS) and Pilot of Private Procurement & Stockist Scheme (PPPS)
13. National Food Security Mission (NFSM) - for increasing the production and productivity of foodgrain
crops (rice, wheat, pulses, coarse cereals & nutri-cereals)
14. Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) - Bee keeping has been promoted under it
as an additional source of income of farmers
15. Rashtriya Gokul Mission to enhance milk production and productivity of bovines, to make milk
production more remunerative
16. National Livestock Mission to increase productivity and genetic improvement of livestock
17. Blue Revolution with multi dimensional activities mainly focusing on fisheries production, both inland
and marine, is being implemented
18. A revised strategy document for 2018-2030 for the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture
(NMSA) [0ne of the 8 Missions in PM’s National Action Plan on Climate Change].
19. Interantional Year of Millets by UN for 2023, proposed by India, endorsed by FAO.
20. Krishi Unnati Mela, 2018 - to create widespread awareness about the latest agricultural technological
developments and receive feedback from the agricultural community.
21. Mahila Kisan Diwas - organised on October 14-15, 2018 with participation of various stakeholders. The
focus was to learn and address issues related to women farmers in agriculture and allied sectors, access
to institutional credit and micro-financing, etc.

Mkisan portal - Number of farmers registered on M-kisan portal of DAC&FW for receiving agro-
advisories has increased.
Kisan Suvidha app Downloads of Kisan Suvidha app has also increased; 4 new services were added
to the app, raising the services available to 10.
1. Prime Minister was awarded the United Nation's highest environmental honour - Champions of the
Earth Award.
2. India was the global host for World Environment Day (WED) on 5th June, 2018 - focused on “Plastic
Pollution”
3. Green Good Deeds Campaign asked people to alter their behaviour to Green Good Behaviour to fulfill
their Green Social Responsibility.
4. Clean Air Campaign To sensitise ground-level functionaries and general public to enforce the habit of
environmental protection.
5. Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) - to skill youth in environment, forest and wildlife sectors
and enable them to be gainfully employed/ self-employed.
6. Green (Harit) Diwali “Harit Diwali - Swasth Diwali”- to celebrate environmental-friendly Diwali that
includes cleaning of houses, renovating and decorating homes with diyas, lighting up candles, lamps;
donating clothes/books to needy; making colourful rangoli etc.

- Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY)
- Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI)
RSETIs – They are non- profit institutions established with the support of Banks and the State Governments
to provide training to the rural youth from the poor households to take-up economic activities.
Kaushal Panjee
- Launched in September 2017
- It is a “Skill Register” where rural youth can register to get quality training & jobs
- Objective - to be citizen centric end-to-end solution to aid mobilization of candidates for RSETIs and
DDU-GKY
- Mobilization of candidates done by - Self Help Group members, Gram Panchayat Functionaries, Block
Officials, CSCs and directly by the candidate
- RSETIs & and DDU-GKY Partners can access the Kaushal Panjee to connect with the mobilized rural
youth
- Kaushal Panjee connected to SECC 2011 to help States plan and target their mobilizations

SARAS Aajeevika Mela 2018 - is an endeavour of DAY-NRLM to provide to the rural women producers/women
SHGs a national platform and an opportunity to showcase their products, and seek buyers, either individuals
or bulk buyers for sale nationally / internationally.
It is an employment scheme to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days
of guaranteed demand based wage employment in a financial year.
Target Beneficiaries - Every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual
work. At least one-third beneficiaries shall be women.
Allocation of expenditure - A 60:40 wage and material ratio has to be maintained. No contractors and
machinery is allowed.
The central government bears the 100% wage cost of unskilled manual labour and 75% of the material
cost including the wages of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Wage indexation - Wages are linked to Consumer Price Index (Agriculture labour).
Unemployment allowance - If work is not provided within 15 days of applying, applicants are entitled
to an unemployment allowance.
Implementation - MGNREGA is to be implemented mainly by gram panchayats.
Compulsory Social audit - to be done by the gram sabha atleast once in every 6 months.
Focuses on creation of durable assets as per local needs.

It is an accountability & convergence framework for Rural Transformation (Lives & Livelihoods) on
measurable outcomes.
Objective - To bring one crore households out of poverty to make 50,000 Gram Panchayats poverty free.
Focus - On most backward districts 1 cr Household in 5000 Rural Clusters 50, 000 Gram Panchayats
Strategy - Aims at convergence of schemes of various ministries to ensure simultaneous intervention
to tackle multi dimensionality of poverty State led Initiative
Integrated Monitoring Dashboard – To measure outcomes against defined indicators.
Mission Antyodaya online Application allows convergence of data from Gram Panchayat Level and
generates various types of reports
