BEYOND EDUCATION

INTRODUCTION

The Beyond Education will be launch with the ultimate objective of universalization of
Education for all Children up to class 12th. The Specific target groups for the purpose were SC/ST/
Female and Economically Poor Family, thus focusing on equity and empowerment of weaker sections
of society. Teachers will be brought on the centre stage for improvement of their status and competence.
All this is not withstanding improvement in the quality of education.
The Beyond Education will start in East Champaran district Motihari in May 2019. Motihari has a very low
literacy rate which is at its lowest among females (18.62%) and Scheduled Castes (2%). Total Population of
Motihari is 1,26,158 (1991 Census). Of this Population, 18.54 % are below the Poverty line. Gender Ratio is 859
females to 1000 males.

Beyond Education will be in existence for five years. It will considered appropriate to have an evaluation of
the Programme. Prabha G Eduserv, will contracted to conduct this evaluation study in 3 centres in Motihari
and Patna.
OBJECTIVE AND MISSION

Purpose of the Beyond Education is to create or assess the overall impact of free education on students upto
class 12th in Motihari and Patna ( Bihar).

Following are main listed objective of the Beyond Education

Development of Study Centre in Motihari and Patna.

Availability and utilization of academic infrastructure.

Set up of E-library and Laboratory in Motihari and Patna Providing Students Scientific Learning.

Vocational training to Students, Analyzing their Performance.

Providing students world Class Studies at very low Fee and No Fee for Financial weaker / Female and SC/ST

Convergence of Beyond Education with Ongoing Programmes such as Vidhyastra, Techno Bihar, Science Mela,
Mass Education Etc.

The contents of the above table are self-explanatory. The Beyond Education programme has its
strengths as well as weaknesses which are presented alongside in the table. The programme
held out certain opportunities which may not have been fully utilised. At the same time the social
system in which this programme is operating poses grave threats which might prove detrimental
to the achievement of outcomes envisaged, unless addressed earnestly.
