Shalom Zohar was born in Haifa, Israel and was exposed to

Western and Middle Eastern music from early age,absborbing the


multi cultural sounds at home.
He began performing on stages at the age of 12 as a singer and
actor, and formed his first band in 1982 in Kibbutz Ein Hashofet ,
and performed throughout Israel.
Between1984-86 Shalom articipated in plays as a lead
actor/singer in Efraim Kishon’s play “ About Mice and Men”,
Moliere’s “The Miser” , and many others.
In 1986 Shalom was recruited to the Army and was excepted to
the “Pikud Tsafon “ army band and performed thru out the
country while collaborating with Israel’s leading singers at the
time such as Hanan Goldblatt, Yoram Gaon and Chaim Topol.

In 1992 Shalom started collaborating with composernad guitar


player Shai Alon, a long term relationship that led to his recent
project of original music called “Dofek” .The project was
recorded in Israel and will be released in the US in the near
future.

In 2001 Shalom arrived to NYC and became very active in the


recording seen. His collaboration with singer Smadar Levi and
producer Shai Bachar led to a recording of a song “RalyYabouy”
by Farid El Atrash that will be released on the “One World”
record label in the UK.
