*NUESTROS OBJETIVOS EN INGLÉS: *THERE IS VS. THERE ARE:


1. Reconocer el concepto de existencia Vamos a utilizar “there + To Be Verb” para
*Verbo “haber” en español (existencia) / hablar acerca de la existencia de algo.
“There is…” & “There are…” en inglés. “There + To Be Verb”
2. Identificar la forma correcta para “Hay…”
expresar el concepto de “HABER” (there is
& there are = existencia) en forma “There is” “There are”
afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa. “Hay” en singular “Hay” en plural

THERE IS = HAY (singular)


1. There + is + sustantivo en singular.
✓ There is a cat on the sofá.
✓ There is an orange in the bowl.
✓ There is a woman in the office.
2. There + is + sustantivo no contable.
✓ There is some juice in the glass.
✓ There is some food on the table.
✓ There is some water on the floor.

*THERE IS = THERE’S
3. There is an orange on the table.
Vamos a utilizar “there is” para referirnos a la existencia (Hay una naranja en la mesa)
de sustantivos o nombres contables en singular.
*There is = there’s (en su forma corta).
4. There is a fly in the kitchen.
(Hay una mosca en la cocina.)
1. There is a pencil on the desk.
(Hay un lápiz en el escritorio.)

5. There is a church in town.


2. There is a house near the river. (Hay una iglesia en el pueblo.)
(Hay una casa cerca del río.)

También podemos usar “there is” con sustantivos no

(Hay algo de tráfico en la ciudad.)
1. There + are + Sustantivo en plural.
✓ There are a pencils on the table.
19. There is some light here. ✓ There are aranges in the bowl.
(Hay algo de luz aquí.) ✓ There are three women in the office.
✓ There are camels in the desert.
20. There is some bread on the table. ✓ There are flies in the restaurant.
(Hay algo de pan en la mesa.) ✓ There are big companies in this city.

Vamos a utilizar “there ARE” para referirnos a la on the table.
(Hay seis naranjas en la mesa.)
existencia de sustantivos contables en plural.
*There are = No tiene forma corta o contracción. 4. There are flies in the kitchen.

(Hay dos lápices en el escritorio.)
