required to give the meaning of the picture given in the
formed sentence. Select only 1 representative in each group.

D. Discussing new concepts and An idiom is a peculiar use of certain words and phrases or
practicing new skills #1 expressions which, from long usage, have acquired a
particular meaning.
Idiomatic expressions are a type of informal English that
have a meaning that is different from the words in the
expression.

Use idioms to make the speech more attractive and


impressive. Idioms make language more vivid and
descriptive.

• What do you mean by idiomatic expression?


• How can we find meaning from the idiomatic
expression?
• Can we use idiomatic expressions in our daily
communication with others? In what way?
• Is it important for us to know about idioms? Why or
why not?
E. Discussing new concepts and Title: Find me, I’m lost
practicing new skills #2 The learners are instructed to have one
representative in each same group. They are given 2
minutes to match the idiomatic expressions to its meaning
written in the strips of papers by pasting it on the board.
Rating would be 5-1. Five points will be given to the first to
paste the correct match followed by second to fifth.
