Company Introduction
Silver Eagle Marine Limited is an offshore marine group specialising in the subsea
and deep sea segment. The Group has three distinct business divisions, shipbuilding
of specialised offshore support vessels ("OSV"), ship chartering and specialised
offshore services operations.
The Group specialises in the building of DNV class, Norwegian design, subsea &
deep sea special application vessels. Its high tech shipyard is strategically located in
Batam, Indonesia which is close to Singapore. The shipyard also has conversion and
repair capabilities.
Objectives
It has been a tough year for the marine industry. Our company has been affected by
the global downturn affecting the marine industry in general. Therefore, the
objectives for this year’s Retreat cum Dinner and Dance are:
i. for everyone to revisit and reaffirm the company’s mission and vision;
ii. for business divisions to present their workplans for the next financial year;
iii. for participants to recharge and bond with each other through fun,
collaborative activities;
iv. to recognise, celebrate and reward high performers and long service
awardees

EVENT BUDGET
To work out the event budget it is important to list out the items that needs to be
funded. The items are:
i. Rental of function room for retreat session for 120pax inclusive of day-
catering;
ii. Rental of function room for D&D;
iii. Catering for D&D;
iv. Entertainment & AV Equipment;
v. Prizes and awards, including long service awards;
Bugetary Considerations
i. Rental of Function Room for retreat session;
ii. Rental of Function Roon for D&D
There are criteria to be considered in deciding on a location for the rental of a

function room for the retreat session:
a) able to accommodate at least 120pax to a maximum of 150pax;
b) (critical) allows the use of our preferred external caterer for the D&D event
and
c) (critical) a maximum rental of $13,000 before 7% GST, for the duration from
7am on 20th July to 7am on 21st July.
We considered 3 different venues and we decided on renting The Leaders function

room at NSRCC. We decided on NSRCC because in our negotiations, we were able
to meet the critical criteria b) and c).
For criterion b), we were able to come to an agreement with the management of
NSRCC by coming to a compromise by engaging NSRCC’s in-house to cater for
lunch and tea break on Friday 20th July and we signed a waiver of indemnity to
enable us to engage our own caterer for the D&D.
The rental of the function room amounts to $12, 800 inclusive of 7% GST.

iii. Catering for D&D
For our D&D catering, we elected to engage our preferred caterer, Mak Aku Punya
Dapur Catering (MAPDC). The caterer has been catering for many of our events for
the past 10 years and is well-known for their quality and reliability.
The menu will be a “kampong-delight” themed dinner, served buffet-style with some
live-stations serving food cooked or prepared to perfection on the spot.

Marinated, succulent lamb shanks, slow cooked over a charcoal flame to Wak Nizam’s
family recipe
Indonesian Tahu Telor

A mound of fried tofu mixed with eggs. Adorned with bean sprouts, grated peanuts and
delectable special sweet soy sauce
Bagedil
Fried potato cutlets made of mashed potato with a hint of nutmeg coated with egg
Sotong Masak Hitam

Fresh marinated squid cooked in a tangy squid ink sauce.
Sambal Goreng
Mixed vegetables dish of diced bean curd, sliced fermented tempeh and slivers of long bean
in a mild chili paste.
Sayur Lodeh
Mixed vegetables slow cooked in a mildly spice coconut milk gravy.

Fried chilli with shrimp paste or Fried Padang-styled Red Chilli Sauce or Minang-styled

Dessert made of shaven ice, covering a base of red beans, atap seeds and creamed corn,
topped with gula melaka and evaporated milk. D24 durian flesh optional
Food Catering Cost: S$32/pax for 150px
Due to our long standing relationship with the owner of MAPDC, we are able to come to an
agreement that for S$900, MAPDC will provide stoneware, metal cutleries and utensils,
glassware and 10 staff-on-site.
Tablecloth for buffet lines and live station set-up are complimentary.

iv. Entertainment & AV Equipment
The D&D will be hosted by the reknowned comedian, Kumar. He will preside over
the proceedings as the emcee. He will also perform his stand-up comedy routine and
promises a hilarious good time. He will cost S$4500 to engage for the duration of our
D&D through Goreng Pisang Entertainment.
This year, we also have the privilege of having Deep Harbour, a live-band made up
of our own Silver Eagle Marine staff, playing covers of contemporary, blues and rock
hits. The band has been playing regular gigs for the past 8 years and they will be
providing their own equipment to perform.
Most of the AV Equipment which will be required is included as a complimentary item

in the rental of the venue package.
