INTRODUCTION

Computers play a vital role in one’s life in today’s generation. The software

industry’s most important aspect is “change” in the areas of software

development and management. Most important tools are maintainability,

reusability, portability, security, and integrity and user friendliness. It

has been pointed out that the rapid development of the technology is taken

place in past few years. The most dominant example is COMPUTER.

Computer was firstly only used in scientific purposes, but now the time has

changed. Now in every field computers are the main source for efficient

and quick work done.

Earlier days the Regional Transport Office is maintained with lot of

paper work which makes it very difficult to get the feedback whenever the

record is needed. This system aims at the automation of the RTO and to

reduce the papery work to make it easy for the officials to deal with the

previous records and also to make the easy entry of the new candidate to

provide them the facilities.

SYSTEM STUDY
EXISTING SYSTEM :

In existing system they maintained each transaction manually. These

transactions are, such as Issuing License Registering vehicle, renewing
license and transferring owner of vehicle.

In issuing license and vehicle registration personal details and other details
are accepted through paper work only, it increases papery work and it is
difficult to retrieve any record easily.

DRAWBACKS:
In the existing system there are some drawbacks such as:

1. The existing system is time consuming process as the candidate has to

go through lengthy registration and license issue process.
2. In this system there is requirement manpower. So that economically
this system is more costly.
3. For the transaction more paperwork is required.
To overcome these drawbacks or problems in manual system
computerization is important. So we have tried to develop RTO
management system, which minimizes the paperwork & save the time.

OBJECTIVES:

There are following objectives of the proposed system:

 Creation of paperless office i.e. paperwork is reduced in the office.

 The time is also reduced by proposed system.
 The manpower is reduced by this system all the work of registering,
issuing is done single handedly.
 The most important objective is a security.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

The system is categorized in following parts:

 License: We can issue new license, also we can search, delete and
update any record.
 Vehicle: We can register new vehicle also we can search, delete
any record.
 Renew License: We can renew license.
 Transfer: Also we can transfer owner of vehicle in records.

SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS

FEASIBILITY STUDY
INTRODUCTION:

Feasibility is the determination of whether or not a project is

worth doing. The process followed in making this determination is called a

feasibility study. Feasibility study actually, refers to the study of project in

terms of the availability of resources, time availability, etc. it actually helps

in decision-making capabilities. Hence, we concentrate our attention on

three primary areas of interest.

 TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY :
The technical requirements for this system are Windows

operating system, JAVA and Microsoft Access. The software

and hardware required for this system is easily available.

 ECONOMICAL FEASIBILITY :

As the software and hardware required for this system is easily

available. No additional cost will be incurred. The system will also

reduce lot of paperwork, chances of human errors and provide

consistent information.

 OPERATION FEASIBILITY:

Government agencies in these days are aiming for Office

Automation to achieve paperless concepts, which are, achieved

through computerization that will cut down manual working of

the government employees. The proposed system will be

operationally feasible because of proper systems in specific way

TESTING
AND
VALIDATIONS
TESTING &VALIDATIONS

Software testing is a client element of Software Quality, Assurance

and represents the ultimate review of software specification, design
and coding.

The objectives of testing are:

 Testing is a process of executing the program with intent of

finding an error.

 A good test case is one that has high probability of finding

undiscovered errors.
VALIDATIONS:

Checking validations for License Registrations form:

 Check that there is no blank record.

 Checking of Valid name.

 Checking of Phone Number.

 Checking of Date.

 Checking of valid Age.

Checking validations for License Vehicle Registrations form:

 Checking of valid date.

 Checking of valid name.

 Checking of valid dealer name.

 Checking of vehicle details.

Other Validations:

 Record not present validation.

USER MANUAL
RTO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

There are four main operations in this ‘RTO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM’

designed using Java platform.

 LICENSE :
1. License Registration –

In License Registration form you can accept personal

information and type of vehicle for which the registration has

to be done.

After the registration process has been completed candidate

is given valid license for a fixed duration of a time.

2. Search for Registered License –

In this part the management system user can search for

specific record of any candidate’s information who has

registered for the license.

3. Cancel Registered License –

In this part the management system user can cancel the

register license of any candidate who is not been allowed to

hold a registered license by the RTO officer.

4. Update Registered License –

The management system user can update personal

information record set of any candidate i.e. name, address,

contact number etc.

 LICENSE RENEW :
In this section candidate’s validity for using a registered

license for the purpose of driving the vehicle is renewed.

 VEHICLE REGISTRATION :
1. Vehicle Registration Form:
In this form personal details of vehicle owner are filled,

also detailed information of about owned vehicle is filled

up for the registration.

And after the registration, vehicle owner is given a unique

registration number.

2. Search for Registered Vehicle –

In this part the management system user can search for

specific record of any registered vehicle and also it displays

information about the vehicle owner.

3. Delete Vehicle Information:

This management system provides a service of deleting

record of any registered vehicle.

 VEHICLE TRANSFER :
In this section we can transfer the ownership of any registered

vehicle.
FUTURE ENHANCEMENT

In this project there are some modifications those are

possible to apply in the future.
1. An image can be added to the license which will be issued to a
candidate.
2. We can also implement Client-Server system in the current
application.
3. We can also print the Registered License of a candidate and
Registration certificate.
CONCLUSION

RTO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Using this Application user can issue fresh license to interested
candidate.

Unique license number is issued to the candidates who have registered

themselves for the license.

Using vehicle registration application, we can register a vehicle for its

owner.

Using other applications such as renewal of license and transfer of vehicle

is possible.
