Ginger
GENERAL PREPARATION
Glue the gingerbread man pattern piece onto card or thick paper and cut out the pattern piece to make your
template.
Fold you fabric with right side together and with the grain/pile running down towards you. (Most stretch -
sideways.)
Place your template on the wrong side of the fabric making sure the arrows point towards you.

SEWING - choose which method is easier for YOU!

SEW ON LINE METHOD – TEMPLATE 1.

Trace the templates with a permanent marker on the sewing line. Do NOT cut out your pieces
Sew on the sewing line, and remember to leave a gap for turning.
Cut a 5mm/¼inch seam allowance around your sewing line.
OR...
SEW WITH A SEAM METHOD – TEMPLATE 2.

It can be difficult to ‘sew on the line with Ginger being so small… so I have included TEMPLTE 2 so you can
cut this out and sew the pieces together with a with a 5mm/¼inch seam if you find it easier.
Remember to leave a gap for turning.

ASSEMBLY
Turn Ginger, right sides out and stuff the head nice and firmly. Fill the arms and legs with toy stuffing before
filling the rest of the body.
Use embroidery thread to sew French knots for the eyes and red embroidery thread to sew on a smile!
Use a ladder stitch to close the opening on Ginger’s back.
Sew on 2 buttons and decorate his arms and legs with silver/gold or red ric rac.
