Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American

literature and other text types serve as means of valuing other people; also how to
use processing information strategies, different forms of adverbs and conditionals
for him/her to play an active part in a Chamber Theatre presentation.
Performance Standard: The learner proficiently plays an active part in a Chamber
Theatre presentation through employing effective verbal and non- verbal strategies
based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice, Delivery, Facial Expressions, Style
and Body Movements or Gestures.
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the class, the students must be able to:
a. Identify the type of adverbs used in the given sentences;
b. Perform a role play depicting appropriate communicative styles for various
situations; and
c. Use the different types of adverbs in writing a narrative.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic: Types of Adverbs (Time, Place, Manner, Degree, and Frequency)

B. Motivation
- What part of speech do you use when giving details about verbs or
adjectives to make a sentence more meaningful and interesting?
- Read and compare the two selections given. Which is more interesting to
read? Why? What word/s made the other more detailed?

C. Presentation/Discussion
- Take note of the additional words or phrases that have been added in
Selection B. Categorize them according to what question they
correspond. Use the matrix provided.
- Discuss about adverb, its types, and when each type is used.

D. Application (Group Activity)


Students will be grouped into 4 and will write a paragraph composing of 8 to 10
sentences narrating their most memorable high school experience. Make sure to use
adverbs to make your writing more meaningful.
