Procedures

Introductory Start with a prayer.


Activity
8 mins  Show a short video clip. (Desiderata)
Process questions:
 What idea or ideas come into your mind about the video shown?
 Let the students explain their idea/s

TS: Based on the video, what is our lesson?

 Divide the class into 5 groups.


 Task each group to explain each Aspect of Holistic Development using their
own words.
Activity
10 minutes TS: Pick a reporter from your group because you will present your work in front
after 8 minutes

 Let them write it in a cartolina and present it in front of the class and let them
explain their work.
 Class reaction on the given definition
 After all the groups had presented, present the meaning of each Aspect of
Holistic Development based on the references.
Analysis
10 mins
TS: Does the meaning I give, the same as your group? Think of another
example of a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Possible answers: (Family, Car, Gadgets, Human body, House, etc.)

Abstraction  When we consider a human person and what various aspects make up this
15 mins complex organism, five aspects come to mind.
 The teacher will do the discussion on the following:
 Aspects of HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT:
*Physiological (hormonal changes)
*Cognitive (critical mindsets)
*Psychological (emotional and mental well-being)
*Social (responsibilities)
*Spiritual (value-laden/virtues)

 Hierarchy of Needs by Abraham Maslow


 Wants versus needs

Ask: Do you have any clarification/s on the discussion?


 How do these five aspects interrelate each other?
 Do you think our interpretations of these four basic emotions capture their real
meaning?
 Can attitudes be changed? How?

 Instruct the class to go back to their small groups


 Let the groups read the situation on page 26-27
 Analyze and reflect the following:
1. If you were one of Therese’s classmates, how would you feel and how
would you react to what you are witnessing?
2. Identify and explain the five aspects of a whole person in relation to the
details of Therese’s story.
Application 3. What is your conclusion?
10 mins 4. How do emotions behave as motivators? Draw a list of different
emotions and feelings and determine how many of these you have
experienced.
 Select a secretary to record your sharing in a whole sheet of paper
 I’ll do the checking and you will receive your paper next meeting
 After all have passed their tasks, let the students go back to their original
seating arrangement and let them prepare a ¼ sheet of paper to do the
assessment. (Use rubrics for the group output.)

10. These are a person’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions about another person,
object, idea, behavior or situation. -Attitudes
