Said orientation was attended by owners and managers of thirty (30) MSMEs in the province of
Aklan, 14 of which are identified as members of Women Micro Entrepreneurs (WMEs) of the
Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Philippines Project (WEE Project).
Moreover, the activity discussed the two major components of the program, namely oneSTore.ph
(online shopping website) and oneSTore Hub (consolidator).
An overview of the advantages and processes of the aforementioned components were also
presented which familiarized the participants on the concept of e-commerce.
With the agency’s continuing effort to assist the enterprises, OneSTore was conceptualized and
presently being implemented. OneSTore.ph is an e-commerce web application platform that
operates nationwide and caters primarily to Philippine consumers. It hopes to further assist the
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) widen the scope of their target market.
Eventually, it can help deliver economic growth and increase business opportunities of those
enterprises in the rural communities. OneSTore provides customers with an effortless shopping
experience and retailers with simple and direct access to one of the largest customers.
Last year, oneSTore orientation was also facilitated by DOST VI in the province of Aklan to
help the MSMEs who were affected by the closure of Boracay Island to market their products
online.
Presently, thirty-two (32) products from the province were already uploaded to oneSTore.ph.
DOST 6 further emphasized that the oneSTore Program shall continually promote local
products, help MSMEs grow and support oneSTore.ph.
