Community Health Nursing or CHN as they say.

I have little to no knowledge about the subject

except for the part that it is a community subject that will teach us skills in promoting health wellness in
a community setting. Personally, I’m excited about the subject for the reason of learning things that will
help me execute health teaching in a community. It is a brand-new experience that will enhance my
knowledge about serving in a community, sleeping there, learning new cultures that will modify my
cultural sensitivity in a way that I’m able to adopt to a different culture. For now, it is all theories and
discussions but I realized that it’s not just about going in a community to provide service, it’s about
creating a healthy environment conducive for wellness for the folks living there. Helping the folks in that
community to learn and adjust to certain things that causes their diseases. It’s like finally living the word
you strived for, and that is “Saving lives”. Maybe it’s a small act but for them, it’s far greater than that. I
realized that the small things matter the most because it creates the big things.
