Math Dep’t administers MTAP classes

To awaken the greater interest in Mathematics among its learners and in
compliance to memorandum no. 016, s. of 2018, QNHS held a 6-day MTAP Saturday
classes which started on September 8,2018.
The said program focused on the encouragement of the learners to strive for
excellence in Mathematics, discover mathematical talents, develop the values of hard
work, perseverance, honesty, teamwork, and sportsmanship and to provide them with
opportunities in leadership and cooperative undertaking.
The lessons taken every meeting were based on the curriculum guide and from the
central office of the Department of Education which were facilitated by the
Mathematics teachers spearheaded by the Mathematics Department Coordinator, Mrs.
Lorna L. Antipolo for grade 9; Ms. Girlie Eugenio and Mr. Richard Cayabyab for grade 7;
Mr. Tee Jay Ramos and Mr. Edgar Asuncion for grade 8; and Mr. Michael Yagyagan for
grade 10.
A total number of 199 students joined the said program who came from different
grade levels: 39 from grade 7, 68 from grade 8, 53 from grade 9 and 39 from grade 10.
Moreover, the said program was also an avenue to scout for learners from every
curriculum in the Junior High School who excel in the said area to represent the school
in the Division MTAP Elimination.
“I willingly joined to this event because I want to discover new techniques in
solving difficult equations and problems; after all, the effort and the P200.00 fee was
worth it” Joana Estrada, a Grade 10 student remarked.
