Blog #3 :

Today, June 26, 2019, I made it to Maui Waena all on my own today, without getting
lost!! Today is going to be a pretty chill day, considering there isn’t much going on. They
are just reviewing their summaries and reading them out loud, finishing their “who am I”
poems and reading them out loud, and reading a short-fiction story. Our first class at first
was only 2 students, but then 5 more students showed up. Our second class had all our
students.

Some Things I Learned/Observed :

- When Mrs. Austin saw that our first class only had 2 students she was still
excited because she knew that she would be able to get everything done while
also being able to help one on one more and possibly fit in some more activities.
But 5 more students showed up anyway.
- Kim was reminded of adjectives, nouns, and verbs.
- Slowing down when reading/talking makes things easier
- When reading and you read a comma (,) you take a half break/pause and when
you read a period (.) you pause for a few seconds and then continue
- I got a chance to read some of the students poems and they are so deep,
meaningful and just beautiful <3

Mrs. Austin also gave me another homework assaignment . She gave me the task of
creating an ELA card, where the students have to create a sentence it’s all 4; article,
adjective, noun, and verb. I also still have to complete my homework question “why do
we go to school?”.
