Cutting Paper Dolls and People Chains

Fold a long strip of paper in half, in half again, and so forth, until the strip is half its height or thinner. Draw the
person the way that you see in the illustration above....just half of a person...with the middle of the person being on
the fold...and then start cutting. The people can be colored with crayons, paints, colored pencils, markers, or
whatever you please. For a variety in this craft, you can try pasting a string together with outer hands attached to
form a circle of dancers.

There are many times when a string of paper dolls is needed—in making posters, decorating your classroom,
illustrating a Bible verse, teaching a historic story, etcThese can be hinged together for illustrative purposes, such as
a poster, handwork, or illustrated songs. The directions and sketches will be basic to cutting out various sizes of
paper dolls. Each cutting will yield 4 dolls.

Fold an 81/2"x11" sheet of paper in half 3 times. Start at fold and cut out, being careful to leave hands on folds so
dolls will be joined.
Again...Fold an 81/2"x11" sheet of paper in half 3 times. Cut out dolls for a family—cut apart so each child has a
father, mother, boy and girl doll. Fasten together with Scotch tape.
One more time...Fold an 81/2"x11" sheet of paper in half 3 times.Cut out boy and girl dolls to represent children of
other lands. Children can make these for use with words of song "World Thinking Day", or for Sunday
Schools..."Jesus Loves the Little Children."
