INTRODUCTION
About the Project
This project uses a biometric concept to facilitate the attendance system in educational
institute. It uses the most reliable way of uniquely identifying students through fingerprint
reading. Such type of application is very useful in school as well as in college for daily
attendance. Through this application we can keep a systematic app of student attendance. This
project enables the easy way of maintaining class attendance with fewer efforts .

Research Gap and Problem Statement

In present system all work done manually. The amount of work makes the attendance system
process much lower. It require maintaining lot of document. Handling important document is
much time consuming work. It takes more effort and physical space to keep track of paper
document, to find information and to keep detail secure, hence fingerprint based attendance
system will allow student to be more regular in attending their class. Since now no attendance
sheet signature is require, so no friend or any other student can make attendance behalf of
other as fingerprint are unique for every student.

Why is the Particular Topic Chosen ?

The motivation for doing this project was primarily an interest in undertaking a challenging project in an
interesting area of research. The opportunity to learn about a new area of computing not covered in lectures
was appealing. This area is possibly an area that I might study at postgraduate level.

Object and Scope of the Project

Objective of this application is to maintain all record in database so that whenever needed retrieve. This
system takes daily accurate attendance of student. It helps in student monitoring in searching the student in
college campus as per his/her time table.

Methodology
This module used to taking attendance of student and store in database for further use. It also allows:

 User adding and deleting searching

 View
 Report generation
 Project estimation

Contribution/Significant
The developed system is very helpful in saving valuable time of students and lecturers, paper and generating
report at required time. The system can record the clock in and clock out time of students and workers in a
very convenient manner using their fingerprint to prevent impersonation and reduce level of absence. Also, it
reduces most of the administrative jobs and minimizes human errors, avoids proxy punching, eliminates time-
related disputes and helps to update and maintain attendance records.
