The maps illustrate how West Park Secondary School shifted over three different
time periods 1950, 1980 and 2010.
As it can be seen from the picture, it is clearly evident that the area witnessed a number of changes over the time frame such as the disappearance of housing and farmland and the development of school and car park. In 1950, West Park Secondary School was constructed along the main road and was also adjacent to numerous houses. In back of the school was a playground, which was erected close to a large farmland. However, over the period of 30 years, the houses were knocked down to make way for a car park and a science block, which was the outbuilding of the school. The farmland was also converted into a sports field, while the playground was remained at the previous position. In the year of 2010, the school's main building and the science block still existed but there was a significant extension of the car park gave rise to a decrease in size of the playground and the sports field.
