My five learning styles are visual, applied, verbal, social, and pragmatic. Being a visual
learner I learn best from looking at pictures and diagrams. I prefer to have information
directly in front of me so I can refer back to it. This is why I also prefer to have a text in front
of me rather than listening to someone speak. I like to have it directly in front of me so I can
highlight and underline important information and not forget anything. Next, I am an applied
learner. This means I prefer real life examples when learning. Real-life examples allow for
me to connect to things that are actually happening in my life and can help make complicated
concepts relatable and understandable. I am also a verbal learner meaning I rather someone
directly tell me instructions than have to figure them out on my own. This helps clarify and
make life simpler and makes work easier to understand. As a social learner this means I
enjoy working with others. I enjoy this because I am able to bounce ideas off of others in
order to figure out the best way to do something. I also enjoy groups because many ideas are
better than only one so more assignments end with more creative outcomes. Lastly, I am a
pragmatic learner. This means I like when information is stated clearly. I do not want to have
to go out of my way to figure out directions. I would like them to be directly stated to me
allowing me to know exactly what my task is.
