I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of : Philippine Literature during the
Period of Apprenticeship as a means of examining conflicts ; various purposeful
listening and viewing strategies ; difference between literal and figurative
language; ways to extract and condense information based on library sources;
verbal, and non-verbal cues in oral communication; and types of phrases,
clauses, and sentences.
B. Performance Standard
The learner transfers learning : resolving conflict presented in literary sections;
using tools and mechanisms in locating library resources; extracting information
and noting details from texts to write a précis, summary, or paraphrase ;
distinguishing between and using literal and figurative language and verbal
language and non –verbal cues; use phrases, clauses, and sentences
meaningfully and appropriately

brainstorm ideas aloud, the teacher

bubble map outlined on the board
The teacher will connect this content to the new information they will
learn today by explaining, “Students, you’ve just listed many details
that support our topic “Things we do at recess.”
The teacher will post 3 optical illusion pictures then the students will be
given 30 seconds to write on a metacard what they can see.

The teacher will give each student one worksheet of 6 different variations. The
teacher will promote skill development by asking the students to silently read the
short informative article ( Philippine Setting ) to circle the main idea and underline
the supporting details of the passage.
