complete on time. Which we give the title “English Pocket Basic Scouting”.
The purpose of writing this pocket is to help students to know about scouts
equipment vocab in english. Thanks to the parties assisting the completion of
the pocket. Hopefully this pocket can be useful, benefit, and expanding

 WORLD’S LEGENDARY FIGURE OF SCOUT

Agnes Baden-Pawell

Born in England, December 16, 1858 - died in

England, June 2, 1945 at the age of 86 years.
Agnes Baden-Powell is known for her contribution
to the Princess Scouting Movement with her
brother, Robert Baden-Powell. In 1908, he
followed his brother,Robert Baden-Powell formed
a small group of daughters who were able to act
during an emergency, he named "Girls' Emergency
Corps". In 1910, Agnes and several friends formed
a committee to organize Princess Scouting with
Agnes as its President.

Robert Baden-Powell

Robert was born in Paddington, London on February 22,

1985. Baden Powell is a member of the British army.
He is often assigned outside England. Until in 1908 the
book 'Scouting for Boys' was published which later
became a reference for scouting in the whole world. In
1910, at the suggestion of King Edward VII, Baden
Powell decided to retire from the army with the rank of
Lieutenant General to focus on developing scouting
education. Some of the books on scouting he wrote
included Scouting for Boys (1908),Aids To
Scoutmastership (1919), Scouting Round the World (1935) and others.

 Juliette Gordon Low

Juliette was born in Savannah, October 31, 1860 and

passed away on January 17, 1927. She was a young
American girl leader and founder of Girl Scouts of the USA
in 1912. While in the United Kingdom, Juliette worked as
the leader of Pandu Puteri for the ranks she organized in
Scotland and London. When he returned to the United
States in 1912, he formed a female guide called
American Girl Guides.
But the name of the organization changed to Girl Scouts
the following year. The organization was made a legal
entity in 1915, with Juliette serving as president until
1920 when she was given the title "founder".

Olave Baden-Powell

Olave was born in Chesterfield, England, February 22, 1889

- born in Bramley, England, June 25, 1977 at the age of 88)
was the wife of Robert Baden-Powell, pioneer of the Scout
Movement. She is known for his contribution in building the
Scouting Movement of the British and world Princesses,
Olave Baden-Powell became chairman of the British
princess scouting in 1918, then became chairman of the
world princess scouting in 1930. During his life he visited
111 countries to foster the Scouting Movement in the
whole world. Olave began taking part in Princess Scouting
in 1914, and in 1918 was appointed as Head of Scouting
for the British Princess. In October 1939, he moved to
Nyeri, Kenya together with Baden-Powell, until Baden-
Powell died on January 8, 1941.

 Carl XVI Gustaf
Gustaf was born in Solna, April 30,
1946. He is the Honorary Chair of the
World Scout Foundation, and often
participates in scouting activities in
Sweden and abroad. He attended the
National Jamboree in Virginia, United
States in 1981 and was awarded the
Bronze Wolf, the only World Scout
Movement Organization medal, was
awarded the World Scout Committee
for special services in world scouts, in
1982. In 2017 Carl XVI Gustaf visited
Indonesia in the Jamboree in West
Java.

The first Jamboree in the world was held in
1920 in England and was attended by 8,000
participants from 34 countries in the world.
Countries in Asia that participated in the
first Jamboree included Malaysia, India,
Japan and China. In this first Jamboree,
Baden-Powell was inaugurated as the
pioneer of scouting activities in the world, or
held as the Father of World Scouts.

 Seven Figures of the Head Indonesian Scout
Movement 1961-2018

Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX, 1961-1974.

Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana IX was born in Ngayogyakarta
Hadiningrat, April 12, 1912 - died in Washington, DC, United
States, October 2, 1988 at the age of 76 years. The Sultan even
served as Chair of the National Quartar (Scout) of the Scout
Movement for four consecutive periods, namely during the
service period of 1961-1963, 1963-1967, 1967-1970 and
1970-1974. So that in addition to being the first Chairperson of
the National Quarters, Hamengkubuwono IX also became the
second longest Chair of National Education, which served for 13
years (4 periods) after Lt. Gen. Mashudi, who served as Chair of
the National Coordination Board for 15 years (3 periods).

Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana IX had received the Bronze Wolf

Award from the World Organization of the Scout Movement
(WOSM) in 1973. The Bronze Wolf Award was the highest and
only award from the World Organization of the Scout Movement
(WOSM) to people who made great contributions in the
development of scouting.

Lieutenant General. M. Sarbini, 1974-1978

M. Sabirin was born in Kebumen, May 29, 1914 - died in Jakarta,
August 21, 1977 at the age of 63 years. M. Sabirin was born in

Sarbini had previously served as Minister of Defense of Indonesia

Coordination Meeting in the 1st National Scout Movement
National Conference, 20-27 November 1974 in Manado, North
Sulawesi. Died a year before his tenure as Chairperson of the
Kwarnas ended.

Lieutenant General. Mashudi, 1978 – 1993

Lt. Gen. Mashudi born in Cibatu Village, Garut, West Java,

September 11, 1919 - died in Jakarta, June 22, 2005 at the
age of 85 years was a former West Java governor who had
been the Chair of the West Java Scout Advisory Council since
1961. In 1974, after leaving his position as Deputy Chair of
the MPRS (1967-1972), he was the Chair of the Regional
Quartar of the West Java Scout Movement. In the same year,
Mashudi was elected as Deputy Chairperson of the Scout
Movement Coordination.
In the midst of his tenure as Deputy Chairperson of the
National Military Committee, Mashudi was appointed Acting
Chairperson of the Scout Movement Unit to replace Sarbini
until 1978. In the National Scout Movement in Bukit Tinggi,
West Sumatra in 1978, Mashudi was elected unanimously to
become Chairperson of the Scout Movement until 1993.

Lieutenant General. Himawan Soetanto, 1993–1998

Lt. Gen. Himawan Born in Magetan, East Java, September
14, 1929 - died in Jakarta, October 20, 2010 at the age of
81 years) was a retired high ranking officer of the Army and
also former Commander of the Army Reserve Strategic
Command. Lieutenant General. Himawan Sutanto was
elected as the fourth Chair of the National Conference in the
National Conference of the Scout Movement on November
2-8, 1993 in Jayapura, Papua. He served for only one
period.

TNI Lieutenant General (Ret.) Rivai Harahap (born in Pematang
Siantar, April 21, 1928; age 88. Let.Jen Rivai had attended
regional and international jamborees and conferences in various
countries, and had received an award from scout in the form of
Jasmine Badges, Badges Darma Bakhti, Pnca Warsa V. Badge.

Prof. Dr. Azrul Azwar, MPH, 2003–2013

Born in Kutacane, Aceh, June 6, 1945 - died in Jakarta, April 1,
2014 at the age of 68. Prof. Dr. Azrul Azwar, MPH was elected as
chairman of the sixth National Quartir in the VII National
Conference which took place on 15-19 December 2003 in
Pontianak, West Kalimantan. In Munas VIII (15-18 November
2008 in Cibubur, Jakarta), he was re-elected to occupy the second
service period.

Adhyaksa Dault, 2013–2018
Born in Donggala, Central Sulawesi, June 7, 1963; 55 years
old) is the State Minister of Youth and Sports in the United
Indonesia Cabinet (2004–2009). On December 5, 2013,
Adhyaksa Dault won the election of the Chairman of the Scout
National Quartir for the 2013-2018 period at the National
Conference (MUNAS) in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT)
replacing the late Azrul Azwar. Adhyaksa obtained 17 votes
out of a total of 34 votes contested, narrowly won from the
Deputy Chairperson of the Education and Training Center and
Lecturer at the National Defense Institute, Jana T. Anggadireja.

activities were first introduced by the Dutch in the Dutch
colonial period in Indonesia. At this time, the scouting
activity was named Padvinder which was spread in several
regions.
 The name Scouts for scouting organizations in Indonesia
began to be inaugurated on August 14, 1961. Many thought
that the name Scout was an abbreviation of Praja Muda

AMERICAN. Morse code is delivered

ratio of 1: 3 (1 point and 3 unt strip).
in 1837 its use was still limited to
being used with the telegraph
system and was only received
worldwide in 1851.
