What is an ECE Board Examination?

To become a Licensed Electronics and Communications Engineer in the Philippines, a graduate of

Electronics Engineering needs to pass the Electronics Engineering Licensure Examination. The examination
is conducted by the Board of Electronic Engineering under the supervision of the Professional Regulations
Commission (PRC). It is scheduled twice a year in the months of April and October.

The Electronics Engineering Exam (or properly known as the Electronics Engineer Licensure
Examination) is one of the annual board exams conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission
(PRC). The licensure exam aims to screen and qualify aspiring electronics engineer in the country. This
exam is under the Republic Act No. 9292 also known as the “Electronics and Communications Engineering
Act of the Philippines”.

What is the passing rate for the Electronics Engineer Licensure Exam?

To pass the Electronics Engineer Licensure Exam, you need to have a rate of 70% in each subject.
If you scored below 70% in one of the areas (but not lower than 60%) but obtained the passing rate for
the majority of the subjects, you can take one removal examination. You’re allowed to retake the failed
subject only once. So you better give your best shot!
