“BABY SHOWER”

I. Research

The five (5) W’s

What is the purpose of your minor event concept?

A “Baby Shower” is a happy custom in the US where family and friends

‘shower’ the pregnant woman with gifts for herself and the new baby. This kind
of event is kind of rare here in the Philippines unlike christening and birthdays.
Because a new baby requires so much, and this can be very costly, family and
friends, traditionally all women, pitch in together to provide gifts from diapers to
clothes and blankets.
Usually food and drinks are served and games are played. The “shower”
is usually held in the expectant mothers 6–7th month of pregnancy. The
purpose is to celebrate the upcoming birth of a baby, something worth
celebrating for.

What are the characteristics of your event concept?

 It is unique – Since it’s not really that well known event over here in our
country, we can say that this concept is unique and because this kind of
concept can fill the atmosphere with positive energy, laughter, love,
excitement and etc.
 It brings people together – Whether it’s a relatives , in – laws , friends
and others this event will bring them together to celebrate the new
blessing to be part of their lives.
 It has a purpose – As what we have mentioned above its purpose id to
celebrate the upcoming birth of a baby, something worth celebrating for.
What category of event does it fall under? Why?
Family events – because this is meaningful and significant event for the family
and most families want it to make a favourable impression on relatives and friends.

Who are the event partners you should tag?

 Lighting, video and audio companies- the lighting of the venue must be good
enough to expose the celebrant. Also video and audio companies must see to it
that their things are working well.
 Decorations and florist- as organizers you must see to it that your designs are
applicable to your event and according to your client's wanted theme.
 Entertainers- since you are organizing a baby shower you also need them to
keep your guests entertained.
 Rental companies- Venues or things that are needed in the party
 Catering companies- most important in a party, you must provide foods that will
surely satisfy your guest.

What type of market are you targeting for this event?

The Social Market - because it is important to know that most people who employ
event planners with these kind of events are capable of spending and have no time to
time in planning the event. So, as event planners, we are here to help them achieve their
wanted parties hassle-free

The Designs of this Event still depends on the person (clients). Here are
some examples of Baby Shower Designs:
III. Planning
The three (3) basic laws
 Time – This is needed because it affects the cost and sometimes the
successful of the event. We need time to meet with our clients, vendors,
suppliers and etc. to avoid conflict in the event.
 Space – This is also needed to identify where to hold the event (venue)
to match the participant’s needs, wants and expectations.
 Tempo – This is the final law of event planning, this is done to be able
to set up schedule of the event and making sure that each actions are
being performed at the best time as this makes an event memorable to
the participants.
IV. Evaluation
 Survey – conducting immediate feedbacks of the participants of the
event. This is done for us to know the level of satisfactions each
participants felt in their experience in the event.
 Pre-even and Post-event Survey – This Is also a great form of
Evaluation that is done to determine the participants knowledge ,
opinions , suggestions and other information during and after the event
to match expectations vs. reality.
