KYLIE SKIN REVIEW: JEFREE STAR & SHANE DAWSON

Last May, Kylie Jenner launched her new line called Kylie Skin. Even
though the line sold out, the launch didn’t go down without some major
controversy. Aside from the price which is 125 dollars for just a skin care which is
in Philippine peso is P6375, the famous walnut scrub caught the most backlash.
According to some studies, using walnut scrub in your face are probably the one of
the worst mechanical exfoliant because it’s impossible to make the walnut shell
pieces smooth so it’s like putting a shards of glass in your face that is incredibly
embracive and irritating to the skin barrier.
A week later, Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson decided to do an honest review
on the Kylie Skin, Jefrree is known for being brutally honest when it comes on
reviewing a certain product. At the start of the video, Jeffree said he was both
nervous and excited to try the line. According to him when it comes to reviewing
anything Kylie related people tend to think that they have feud which is totally not
true because according to him they just don’t care about each other.
Jeffree and Shane began by reviewing Kylie’s $10 makeup-removing wipes,
which they both described as “a little dry”. From there, they tried the $24 foaming
face wash. According to Jeffree the foaming face wash has a fragrance, adding that
skin-care products shouldn’t have added fragrance because it could be an irritant if
you have sensitive skin. Next, Shane said the $22 vanilla-milk toner made his skin
tingle and turned his face red, while Jeffree said it “did remove a lot of dirt.”

To complete their review, Jeffree said the line’s $24 moisturizer didn’t leave
him feeling as moisturized as he’d hoped, Shane also said that the $28 vitamin C
serum smelled like “dog-bacon”, though he seemed to like the texture of the
product.

Despite their mixed review of the products, Jeffree and Shane said they felt
overall that Kylie’s skin-care line was “basic”.

“I’m going to be honest: Everything to me feels very, like, basic, which is

totally fine,” Shane said. “There’s nothing wrong with that.”

“My face feels basic,” Jefrree said, adding, “I don’t feel like myself.”
