Malaysia’s government introduced smoking ban enforcement at all eateries and
restaurants starting from 1 January 2019. The purpose of this enforcement was to reduce smokers’ incentives for smoking in restaurants and also to protect non-smokers from second- hand smoke. In this study, we conducted the survey on smoking ban in eating outlet among Batu Pahat community. There are 50 respondents involved in this survey were among the public people entire Batu Pahat. The method we used in this survey is by questionnaires. From the questionnaires, the data analysis was obtained. From the data analysis, we conclude the smoking ban is very useful to raise awareness in eating outlets for smokers not smoking.
1.5 Significance of Study
1.5.1 The Community
The community can increase their awareness of the health risks of smoking and second-hand smoke. Besides that, the community can increase its support for smokers to reduce or stop smoking. 1.5.2 Eating Outlet The eating outlet manages to provide the good air quality for their customers. In addition, the eating outlet can always be in good condition and clean from smoke and cigarette dust.
