OBJECTIVES :
 To impart practical knowledge on experimentally test the tension, shear, torsion,
deflection and hardness for different materials.
 To realize how certain measuring devices are used for dynamic testing.
 To demonstrate about the structure of metals and alloys using metallurgical microscope.

List of Experiments:
1. Tension test on a mild steel rod.
2. Double shear test on Mild steel specimen.
3. Torsion test on mild steel rod.
4. Impact test on metal specimen.
5. Testing on helical springs.
6. Determination of mass moment of inertia using connecting rod and flywheel.
7. Determination of mass moment of inertia using bifilar suspension.
8. Determine the characterization of Watt governor and Porter governor.
9. Determination of gyroscopic couple.
10. Draw the micro structure and identify the different cast iron (Gray CI, Spheroidal
Graphite CI, malleable CI) using Metallurgical Microscope
11. Draw the micro structure and Identify the AI and Cu alloys using Metallurgical
