MFTBC STANDARD = (1/5) CLASSIFICATION SCOPE OF APPLICATION [STANDARDS NO, ENGINEERING STANDARD CORPORATE—WIDE MSF1-—2021 TITLE: ~~ |ISSUED BY: GENERAL TOLERANCES — MACHINING Eros | Docume e ingineering Management Dept. 1. Purpose This standard is intended to simplify drawing indications, and it specifies general tolerances for machining cut dimensions Scope This standard applies to the dimensions without individual tolerance indications of parts as follows, which have been produced by metal removal (1) Linear dimensions (e.g. external dimensions, internal dimensions, step dimen- sions, diameters, radii, distances, comer roundings and chamfer dimensions of corners) (2) Angular dimensions (usually, including the angular dimensions not indicated in drawing.). (8) Linear and angular dimensions obtained by machining assembled parts. This standard does not apply to the following dimensions. (1) Linear and angular dimensions which are covered by reference to other standards ‘on general tolerances. (2) Informative dimensions indicated in parentheses. (3) Theoretically exact dimensions indicated in rectangular frames. Remarks: These tolerances may be suitable for use with materials other than metal. General General tolerances for linear and angular dimensions shall apply when this standard is referred on drawings or associated specifications in accordance with clause 5 and clause 6. In the case where general tolerances for other processing methods are specified in other standards, reference shall be made to them on the drawings or associated specifications. For the dimension between the unfinished surface and the finished surface (e.g. for castings or forgings) to which no individual tolerance is directly indicated, the larger of the two general tolerances in question shall apply. Definition of Terms 4.1 Limits of size Big and small dimensions which indicate the limit of size (maximum permissible dimensional deviation / minimum permissible dimensional deviation). 4.2 Basic dimension The dimension, which is basic to a permissible limits of dimension. 4.3 Permissible dimensional deviation The value of difference, which is subtracting basic dimension from limits of size. 4.4 Dimensional tolerance The value of difference between maximum permissible dimensional deviation and minimum permissible dimensional deviation. 5. General tolerances 5.1 Linear dimensions The general tolerances for linear dimensions shall be in accordance with the permissible deviations given in Table 1 and Table 2. However, in general, m class shall be used. Table 1 Permissible deviations for linear dimensions except chamfered parts (external radii and chamfer heights, refer to Table 2) Unit : mm. MITSUBISHI FUSO TRUCK & BUS CORPORATION ‘STANDARDS NO= Re MSF1-—2021 3/5 5.2 Angular dimensions General tolerances specified in angular units control only the general orientation of lines or line elements constituting surfaces, but not their form deviations. The general orientation of the line derived from the actual surface is determined by the orientation of the contacting line of ideal geometrical form (Refer to Fig. 1). In this case, the maximum distance between the contacting line and the actual line shall be the least possible value. Contacting line Fig. 1 Angular dimensions tolerance The general tolerances for angular dimensions shall be in accordance with the permissible deviations given in Table 3.
