MYTH: Testing is easy.

FACT: Testing can be difficult and challenging (sometimes,

even more so than coding)

Myth 4 : Complete Testing is Possible

Reality : It is always an issue when we see a client or tester thinks that a
complete level of testing is possible. It is clear that all paths can be tested by
the QA team but the occurrence of complete testing is never possible. There can be
some scenarios where the qa team nor the client would never had tested it during
the developing phase but may be executed once the project has been deployed

Myth 3 : Only Fully Developed Products are Tested

Reality : We have SDLC Phase, where we need to start testing from the initial stage
itself. Undoubtedly, testing will be dependent on the source code but also
reviewing the specified requirements and developing those test cases is not
dependent with the developed code. Thus, it is pretty much clear that iterative or
incremental approach as a development life cycle model may reduce the dependency of
testing on the fully developed software

Myth : Anyone can Test a Software Application

Reality - People outside the IT industry think and even believe that anyone can
test a software and testing is not a creative job. However testers know very well
that this is a myth. Thinking alternative scenarios, try to crash a software with
the intent to explore potential bugs is not possible for the person who developed
it
